You can't really put rides up on Thresheree land and expect then NOT to tip over. It is all hills out there...and it is private property.

I am sad to see that the County Board still hangs on to the old "farmer supervisors" school of thought when it comes to capital projects that benefit everyone. Moving the fairgrounds is a great big BOON to Rock County! With wide open space, modern buildins and equipment, parking, etc., we could offer the public everything the surrounding counties have that we don't. Horse pulls, demolition derbies, bigger named acts--all we have are old acts and the most exciting thing to see at the fair now is the sale of animals and eating eclaires. Think outside of the week of the fair. With new facilities, the county could draw other events and gain more revenue for the county. Come on, County Board, think about what is best for us! If you could have approved this sooner, would you have slapped us with the half cent tax? Could you have asked the Jeffris family to let the County out of the the covenant of not being able to sell the present fairgrounds and use that money to help finance the new grounds (and name it in their honor?)

The burning question on everyone's mind is: Why do we need the State Patrol anymore? There aren't enough of them patrolling the highways, they always seem to be parked at the scaes when they are closed, and the highway problems still exist.
If they were State Police, they'd have some value. They aren't, so, let state money funnel to the 72 sheriff departmetns to patrol the roads. Legislature fixed the strength of the Patrol at 499 troopers. WHAT ARE WE GETTING FOR OUR MONEY ANYWAY?

How have parents become lazy, and which generation do you want to pin it on? A baby is not born innocent, from a Christian standpoint. A baby learns from it's enviroment, not just adults. That's what I heard on the street, from Karl Jung, no less.

I am voting for the Internet for president. Why, you ask? Well, it is bi-partisan, always accessable to the people (subject to crashes and server upgrades), gives fair and truthful answers, is up to date on world and national events and mass appeal. Now then, can we say this about our current leaders?

Oh yeah, concealed carry is a right lacking in Wisconsin and Illinois. I just don't think that young people, congregated together, and weapon usage is ever a good idea. The potential to shoot an innocent, get in a shoot out or be a poor aim and get themselves killed is too great. However, I believe in the right to own guns and would support the right to concealed carry. BTW, it is not illeagal to carry a weapon OUTSIDE your person, in full view, if you have a permit. The flip side is you'll attract negative attention from the police.
