On Should state create tollways?

Posted on February 6 at 6:57 p.m. ( Suggest removal )

Another tacked on fee is just what we need about now, how about toll breathing as a revenue enhancing tool as well. The roads will get worse, the pockets of the "management company" collecting the tolls will swell and what will there be to show for it (other than some wealthy folks collecting millions a buck at a time).

On Janesville couple live modestly and wonder why governments don’t

If these guys think Janesville is bad, they ought to check out Flint Michigan. Flint got hit long before Janesville did and things are a whole lot worse there. They cite Solyndra (a drop in the bucket) and GM (which would have killed an entire industry had they not loaned the money-now repaid) but they will no doubt go and cast ballots for budget hawks that will hack away at their Social Security and Medicare and leave them worse off than they already are. Whiners.

When someone truly loves what they do, the work becomes something greater than just the words or the relationships fostered creating them. Well done Mr Wedeward for a career that informed, entertained and inspired many. Write a book, I am sure that you have the makings for an incredible one stored away in your memories.

So you make a claim based on looking at cars, not based on any kind of actual analysis (like looking at registrations etc.) and make a claim like this like it is some sort of natural law and stir a whole load of controversy up in doing so. So I see a bunch of Toyotas for sale in Janesville and come to the conclusion that the entire town is a bunch of socialist nazi commies based on the fact that there is a someone selling Toyotas. OMG They're selling KIA over there, and good lord, the motors from Chevy Colorados are made by hand whipped communist labor in China, Janesville is being overrun by Chi-Com Socialists bent on dooming America!
What a bunch of hysterical nincompoops.

I get it, you miss the connection to you. Your daughter is now old enough to start enjoying the things you are interested in. Do you have a hobbie you can begin to teach her?? Photography, gardening, etc. I love to draw and do photography and when my dd was little I started to teach my dd how to do these things so we could go off on adventures to get out of the house. Also maybe hubby can find just a couple of hours every few weeks for the two of you to do lunch, nothing fancy just grab a couple of sandwiches and meet at the park and talk. That is the real connection you are missing. Face time and talking, the connection to one on one time without kiddo intereupting. Works wonders :-)

On Is Forward Janesville right to bring Walker here?

Posted on March 26 at 6:28 p.m. ( Suggest removal )

Of course the Governor should be invited by business interests to speak to them. They bought him fair and square and deserve to get to meet with him. They certainly are getting their moneys worth from their investment, and I expect this will continue to pay off in the years to come. Government is a great bargain when a few tens of thousands can get you millions in sweetheart deals and tax exemptions and grants to site your business here. They paid for him, they should get the whole package for their well spent money!

I can't think of a more deserving recipient: Great food, really tremendous staff and a commitment to the community. A tip of the hat to a great place to take the family for a good meal and good fun!

On Landing trainmaker could have hurt city

It's a good thing that Walker has seen the light on this and is throwing the stimulus money back at the feds and sending Talgo to Illinois where its socialist product belongs. Had we kept the democrats in office we would have had trains interfering with traffic and jobs in Milwaukee, neither of which are appealing. Had Janesville wound up with Talgo, they would have driven up local wages and made it less competitive in the labor market as well even if they had stayed. Until the average wage here is 5 bucks an hour and the state allows companies the return of the unlimited hour work week and rolls back so-called "safety" regulations that burden industry, Rock county will never be competitive.

On Did Milton police overreact to dog?

The police involvement can be debated and "Monday Morning Quarterbacked" endlessly, but getting a public works truck in the act was amateurish and irresponsible. It may have had the best of intent, but was wrong on a whole lot of levels.
