On Janesville GM plant targeted for downtime

Posted on June 25 at 1:05 a.m. ( Suggest removal )

Thanks Sarah B. and other well-wishers. The stress is great, this is true, but we (I speak only for my family) will be ok. My parents are turning 50 this year and my parents have no post-secondary education. It seems bad when you look at something like that, but I am inspired by my parent's reaction to my Dad's job loss. They are going to stay in the area and my Dad is going to take the opportunity to go back to school and earn a post-secondary degree. My family has it worse than some, and better than others..it all really depends on how you look at the situation and how you choose to deal with it. Our family will survive without GM even if it means tougher times are ahead. I hope many families affected by the closing of the plant are able to find the same silver lining as my family has. Best of luck to you all.

On GM to lay off more employees

Adolescent name calling JanesvilleHero? It seems to me that putting others down only to make yourself feel superior is a bit on the adolescent side. So maybe you should actually present your points in a more mature manner before you call others out for name calling and other "adolescent" actions. As for what you say about GM workers and such, it doesn't matter to me because I come from a GM family and am so proud of my Dad for working tirelessly to provide for our family. Look in the mirror before you post next time and ask yourself if your loved ones genuinely feel the same pride about you, not only as a worker, but also as a human being.

Haha Pizzaman! That definitely places a picture in the mind, erasing it now lol. It was the first example that made sense to me, so I went with it. As for myself, I am most definitely NOT a nudist and I don't personally know of any as I try to avoid uncomfortable dinners and get togethers.

Oh and I read the posts about Wiki and I think you are making a mountain out of a mole hill. Someoen simply stated their opinion on the reliability of Wiki and now you are acting as if they were on the floor throwing a tantrum. If someone rejects what you are using as unreliable, big deal, get over it and don't act as if they hurt your ego by rejecting it.

Haeight, it doesn't matter how many smokers or nudists I know or do not know..I was making a point. It doesn't matter how many are in a group, I was showing that nudists, as a group, may want their own place in public to go..maybe there just isn't enough demand, but just saying that if they wanted a place, they should get a place, according to your logic and the Bill of Rights as a supporting document to "smoker's rights".

"Deal with not being able to set foot into everyplace on the face of the planet and having it be exactly the way you want it. So grow up and deal with it."

Maybe you could take your own advice. Please show me where in the Bill of Rights it guarantees a right to smoke. Just because nudists like to walk around naked doesn't mean that they're whining that they should have at least one place they're allowed to go nude in public. Sometimes we don't get everything we want and sometimes we don't even get a fraction of what we want, so I say you deal with it.

I hope that teachers will treat these make up days as any other school day and teach the kids who do show up. As for the parents who do not want to send their kids, don't. It will serve as a great lesson for those wishing to pursue college. The lesson being that school does not stop just because you are absent and it becomes your responsibility to make up what you missed no matter how much extra stress it adds to your life.

On Police increase patrol around suspect’s home

Posted on February 28 at 5 p.m. ( Suggest removal )

"Fingerprint evidence linked him to a 1998 home invasion and rape, police said. Police learned Tuesday that Huber’s DNA matches DNA from a 2003 home invasion and rape, and police say DNA from the 2003 and 1998 cases match each other."

I'm just curious wakeupamerica...how would you explain this?? Mistake maybe?? Yeah, perhaps on one case, but with multiple DNA matches, I find it hard to presume him innocent.

Also, before you go and call me a wacko or whatever, I truly do feel for his family, and I feel terribly that his bad decisions will reflect upon his family whether intended or not. I hope they get the professional help they are sure to need after this is all said and done.
