Someone needs to report the real story here - Yuri Rashkin actually said something sensible. I can't imagine that ever happening again.

Mouse, you can probably quit with the countdown. If you click the link on your wonderful countdown page, you'll see that 196,000 people have pledged to sign recall petitions. So, in roughly 6 months since the budget repair bill was proposed, there are 196,000 supporters, but you think 541,000 will sign in 60 days? More wishful thinking on the libs' part. Add in the fact that the positive changes to our state will be so undeniable by January and it doesn't stand a chance. Go ahead and waste more of the unions' money though. There will be less to give to Barry then.

torn3205: Are all your bills due at once? Isn't it possible that the cash on hand is going to be used to pay something, but is not needed for 3 months? Maybe sometimes we could use our heads and think a little before spewing the hatred for the other party.

Are people really bragging about last night's "wins?" Seriously? I think it's sad for the democratic party that the fake candidates got so many of the votes. If people that everyone knows are fake candidates get 30% plus of the vote, how do you expect campaigning republicans to lose? There's going to be some serious disappointment going around on these blogs.

I_luv_jvl - So, as long as a group of people believe that it is ok to spend taxpayer money on something unnecessary, it is ok? Well, a group of republicans believe it is ok to run a fake in the primary. Using your logic, that is ok.

I see that you get your numbers from MSNBC. Was it really hundreds of thousands or simply tens of thousands showing up repeatedly? Since some of them were camped out for weeks at a time, I would suggest the latter. I think the number of people that oppose the legislation is not as great as a lot of people think. Wasn't it supposed to be a landslide WI Supreme Court election?

I can see a problem with this if Dems were playing fair also, but initiating recalls because you don't agree with policy is a childish maneuver to begin with. People are goign to complain about unnecessary primaries, but not about elections that shouldn't be held in the first place? The whole thing is ridiculous. You didn't see Republicans recalling legislators over the previous 8 years when they agreed with very little that Doyle and company did.

Democrats are really going to complain about this? What about the fact that you are recalling someone because you don't agree with them? Isn't that just as childish? I'm sure you will say no because that is how you operate. It's going to be so fantastic to watch all the complaining when you lose these recall elections.

I think a little lustre came off this award when they started giving it to people in prison and people that had done nothing whatsoever but apologize a few times for America's past behavior.
