On Obama signals support of Janesville idea

Ummmm, dalegribble, how do you know they didn't talk about those issues? And anyway, the issues you mention are hardly the only issues worth talking about.
On Janesville fire chief to retire in 2010

Good public servant and a nice guy, too. Larry, sorry to see you leave, but you've earned a good retirement.

Healthnet is indeed a Godsend to many. The current problems faced by Healthnet are a prime example of why the status quo of health care in America MUST change.
I have no insurance. I'm struggling financially. If I get sick I will be homeless.
An American's access to health care should not be limited by their financial status, but that is what the status quo demands. In America EVERYONE should have EQUAL access to health care. Yet I am deemed unworthy of health care by the GOP and the insurance industry because I have a preexisting condition and I have very limited funds.
All of you who scream against government run health care, I hope you will reject Medicare when you turn 65 - but I bet you won't.
On After four requests, Gazette gets open records

MooShooo, the difference between the county employees and Gazette employees is that the county employees are YOUR employee because you pay their wages via your taxes. You are not a customer of the county, you are the owner/boss. Tax payers have every right to know the kind of information that the Gazette is trying to find out and what the county appears to be hiding.
On Briarmoon ticketed at foreclosure sale
Posted on October 24 at 8:17 p.m. ( Suggest removal )
Anyone who backs Briarmoon doesn't know her well at all. She is a vindictive manipulative woman who enjoys the spotlight. And over the years she has also demonstrated a monstrous persecution complex. The city has gone way overboard trying to reason with her on so many issues, but she keeps intentionally ignoring each and every request and order to do things right. She has absolutely no respect for any rule that she did not make, including court orders. Yes, foreclosure is hard, but having watched past Briarmoon shenanigans very closely I have no doubt that she was given every possible chance to avoid it, but she chose to avoid it just for the fun of yanking the public chain.
On Lewis Wallisch, last of the Janesville 99 dies

Mr. Wallisch, I was privileged to talk with you many years ago. You went through hell for me before I was even born. Whenever I thought of you I was humbled and also frustrated because there is no way for me to repay you. I will always be grateful to you and your fellow veterans. I know how you continued to struggle after the war but I know that now you have finally found the peace that you deserve. May God bless you and your family.
On Parents, board question if Chinese program should be mandatory

Anyone who speaks more than one language has an advantage over everyone who doesn't. Those who think that learning Chinese is some sort of evil thing are fools. Like it or not Chinese is an increasingly important language in the world.
On Student safety trumped Obama speech

Objecting to the president's address is just another vile attempt to trash a Democrat. The Republican party, once a decent and honorable organization, has been taken over by hateful and vile zealots who are so pathetically self righteous that they feel justified in doing and saying anything to cast a Democrat in a bad light. Truth is insignificant to them. They are control freaks who can't tolerate not being in control. Decent citizens need to take the Republican party back so that we can have a more respectable political scene.
On Computer report draws board's ire

I have no doubt that Tom Evert knew about this. Its just another example of something that he SHOULD have been telling the school board about, but he didn't because, well, it wouldn't make him look good. And, in his way of thinking it was none of their business anyway.

On City stops removal of Case debris
Posted on September 3 at 2:50 a.m. ( Suggest removal )
Briarloon is nothing more than an opportunist. She doesn't care about anything but the spotlight. Any RESPONSIBLE Realtor would have advised their client that they need to respond to the city's notices. But Briarloon thinks that she doesn't have to follow any rule she didn't make or doesn't like. To her rules are nothing more than something to exploit so that she can be in the spotlight at the expense of tax payers.
Serious question - has her real estate license ever been challenged, have her outrageous practices as an agent ever been investigated? I have to say that if I was interested in buying a property and she was the agent I'd run away screaming.
I'm sad to see that building go too. I'm a big supporter of historic preservation. But geez! The Case building was obviously in dangerous condition and the city did everything they could to let the owners fix it or sell it to someone who would fix it. But the reality was that the costs were more than it was worth. Oops! I mentioned reality. Briarloon is not in touch with any reality but her own.
