Wow, Hawkins as interim?!!! How ridiculous is that?! He retired for cryin out loud and it was about time. There are more than a few solid candidates to act as interim within the current police department. This definitely smells like a "good ol' boy" deal to me too! I'm so tired of all this crud going on in Milton. I want to step up to the plate and run for city council myself but cannot due to working a 2nd shift job.

Milton City Administrator as well as the City Council are all a bunch of slimy crooks in my book. First the ethanol plant now this. Granted this doesn't compare but the whole point is another "closed" meeting. One would think the council would've learned by now. It's time for new blood in Milton. As soon as I get to first shift in my job, I'm running for City Council.

Addict or not, there's no excuse for what happened here. I think everyone should have to be licensed or something before they are allowed to procreate. This is a tragedy for the child as well as the birth mother in rehab. At least she's trying to get help for herself.

Once again, joe citizen "hero", law enforcement and 911 center "bad guys". This is lousy reporting. Somehow I don't think that this guy was told "We can't do that." In fact I can say fairly certainly that would not have been the case. How about a comment from the sheriff's dept or the 911 center? Where's that? Did Oakley say just how he contacted EVPD? Um, that would've been thru the 911 center as well as they handle all law enforcement calls - emergency and non emergency - that time of night. Maybe all the people slamming the 911 center should go take a tour and request a sit in to see how it all really works!
