I think it's important to remember...INNOCENT until proven guilty. I too have known Jim for a long time, and I do not believe under any circumstance that he is capable of such a thing. And, yea. He fits the description, the one that describes 75% of the motorcyclists in the area.

Ledzep:
It's isn't a 'black thing.' Or, a 'white thing.'...and 'asian thing'...or etc.
I have heard EVERY ethnicity, including the "white" one, complain that the reason they were being treated as they were, was because of the color of their skin.
So, like I stated, it's not a 'black thing'...it's an 'I'm-ignorant-and-want-to-be- a-victim-for-the-rest-of-my-life' thing.
These "victims" will use any excuse they can, to avoid the admitting they have done wrong. So, instead of moving forward with the cause, they keep the RACISM alive.
I'll give some examples, for those who are unable to identify the difference between RACISM and RULES.
You and your friends are waiting in line to get into the bar. The rules of the bar are: You must be wearing a shirt. Or they can turn you away. You are African American, and your friend is Caucasion. You are NOT wearing a shirt. Your friend IS. You are turned away. Your friend is allowed in.
THIS IS AN EXAMPLE OF FOLLOWING THE RULES. You weren't actually, despite your crys about being turned away because of the color of your skin, being treated differently. You weren't wearing a shirt. Your friend was. He's allowed in FOR FOLLOWING THE RULES.
Next scenerio.
Same situation. Except your friend ISN'T wearing a shirt either. He is allowed in. You are turned away.
In this case, you have the right to be upset. And, more than likely, you were turned away for the color of your skin. (Providing there were no other variables in the situation, like you were a jerk to the bouncer or something.)
Rules. There are sets of them EVERYWHERE. You don't follow them, and regardless of the color of your skin, you will get in trouble.

JJackson:
Apparently, you are ignoring the question. Or, most likely it's because you just can't answer it, because you are making it up.
There are NO bars in Janesville that prohibit people with braids from entering.
Really.
And, if I'm wrong. Please prove me wrong.
Otherwise, I'm so sick and tired of people using the race card for EVERYTHING.
"I was at a bar, causing ruckus, acting like a drunken idiot and got kicked out." It's because I'm black.
"I was speeding, and got pulled over. The cops gave me a ticket." It's because I'm asian.
"I took something that wasn't mine, and I had charges pressed against me." It's because I'm white.
"I stabbed someone because they pissed me off. I got arrested. And, now I'm on trial." It's because I'm mexican.
More than likely, you were just doing something wrong. So, follow the damn rules.
I'm not denying that racism exists. But, those who cry 'RACISM' every time they do something wrong and get punished FOR IT, are only keeping racism alive. Congrats on setting the eliminate racism cause back a few steps.

bohn-
Please do not speak on my behalf. I do NOT hate everyone and everything that is different than what I know or am.
That's beyond racism. It's ignorant.
I do, however, agree with you that minorities are not the only people who are victims of racism. That much is true. Racism comes from people of all ethnicities.

It's a simple fact that if there are NO rules or regulations, oppurtunity, and a bartender that will serve someone regardless of age-there WILL BE trouble.
Every troublemaker, regardless if they are yellow, black, orange, white, or a purple, WILL BE there. Because, THERE AREN'T RULES TO FOLLOW. And, if there is any semblence of a rule, it's can be broken without consequence-and these deliquents who frequent this bar KNOW THAT.
Race isn't an issue. Following the rules is.

I think Corvinas is a TERRIBLE bar. The bartenders are rude, and so is the crowd that frequents it.
They can cry "racism" all day long. However, the police are NOT singling out Corvinas. EVERY bar downtown, has REGULAR walk throughs by the police. And, on any given night that I am in a bar, I would say, maybe 2-3 times the police walk through, just to make sure all is well.
Go to Quotes on any night of the week, and you are sure to see African Americans. However, because the owner has RULES, and she follows the REGULATIONS OF THE CITY, her bar is under control.
Close that bar down anyway. The bartenders are idiots. The bar itself, is creepy. And, it's causing way to much downtown drama for the other bars.
JJackson, you clearly know absolutely nothing about the owners of Quotes, or anyone else who owns a bar.
If a fight happens OUTSIDE of the bar, the owners cannot be held responsible for it. That's why idiots who do want to fight, take their ignorance out back to the parking lot. Let them beat the crap out of each other there. Doesn't bother me any.
SarahB: Please take everything that JJackson says with a grain of salt. Unless he can provide the name of a bar in town that has a 'no braids' policy, I'm not even going to acknowledge that he has a voice. (In fact, I occasionally wear my hair in braids because we have a Harley. Imagine, I have not been denied into a bar because of my hair style.)
There are rules in bars, like, "no caps." "no rags or bandannas." "no wife beaters." "no baggy clothes." All for the safety of the patrons in the bar. But, no "you can't have braids rule."
I encourage JJackson to tell us which 'MOST
bars' in Janesville that he is referring too. I'm curious.

The city should hire TheJoker to mow some of these lawns.
Lawns get mowed. TheJoker finds something constructive other than complaining on gazetteextra.com ALL day long.
This way, everyone wins. Especially those who have to endure his ignorant comments.

I think a better way to stimulate the economy would be to knock it down, pave it over, and give Bad Brad's more parking space. Ever tried to park there on a Friday or Saturday night....
I'm all for a community center. But, not a cost of 450,000, and in such an undesireable location.
