On Jaloit/Beloiville

For all those bashing localboy, yes he was naughty and broke the rule of 'no bashing'...but what about all those bashing Janesville? Isn't that a double standard? Now, before you bash me...let me tell you that I can only give a very narrow view, for I do not have any Beloit knowledge. I do know of a girl who is a senior at one of the high schools in Beloit and she claims that the violence in the school is so much worse than Craig...which is far too violent. I have been to many areas in Beloit...some are wonderful and I can't wait to go back, some are dumpy and I don't care to visit them again....just like areas of Janesville. Beloit is so much easier to traverse...the early day street planners in Janesville must have sipped some ale before laying out the streets (IMO). I think some rivalry is fun, if in good spirit. Having stated that, all of you that are offended by Janesville bashing Beloit, don't take it to heart. Janesville west-siders attack the east-siders every chance they get, just because we live on the east side and vice-versa. I think 'hometown pride' is a good thing as well as the rivalry...but bashing isn't cool. I can also say that Beloit 'seems' to have far more 'mom-and-pop' restaurants than Janesville...and that stinks for Janesville.

carlitosway: I DID say 'we' and clearly put myself into the mix of the 'whole' American public. I did not bash any 1 person. I did not say 'no one works hard'. I said our parents and grandparents worked harder. I said WE are making ourselves worse off by our laziness. That is meant as a large generality...I obviously do not know you per se'. I stand by my statement...we do not work as hard as our parents and grandparents did...again a generality. Ask most people over 60 if they agree. If you in fact have not come across anyone who takes the system for granted or expects something for nothing, then I sincerely wish I could know the people you know.

Napalm...were you listening in on my conversation last night? Dead on! We are getting lazier and lazier. We play video games and instead of walking our rear ends out to get the paper, like our parents and grandparents did, we hop online. Like I am doing now. We modify our homes so washers and dryers are on the main floor, so we don't have to walk downstairs (I understand some of us need those conveinences)...we eat out all the time instead of learning how to make food at home. We expect the public to teach our children, but get mad when someone suggests little Timmy was rude. Come on America...get off your butt! We get paid good salaries to do much less work (white or blue collar, doesn't matter) than people did just 15 years ago. Our parents and grandparents would have been embarassed to be on public assistance, some of us think it is a way of life. We are so smart we are ruining a great country.
Before you all bash me...I said 'we'.

Yes, Sandman. All of us got caught up in the rediculous comment that our minds didn't seem to get past and give our condolences. Thank you for reminding us.

My heartfelt condolences to the families of all who were in the accidents, whether they got killed, hurt or are ok. Very scary.

I am sure it was very scary to be the Gazette photographer and the emergency workers (listed in no particular order...don't attack me) who were right there when the bus crashed into the truck.

The_One: If the Gazette makes you so sick, why do you read and why contribute? Seems you may already be biased, therefore not a good source for contribution. JMO.

On Janesville vigil seeks to heal victims of violence

Truth1 - wow, I guess this just wasn't your aticle to chime in on. I understand fully what you are saying. I see how many articles give the impression of being just on a womans side, and not a mans or child's. Probably because for whatever reason, women speak out more than men and children are more often than not kept from these things for healing and privacy. I don't think you were being negative or angry. This is just a very touchy subject that already has people on edge before most can comment. Understandable.

John, You spoke at the Relay For Life this year at which my daughter is a past honorary chair...then you hit us both up for money as you paraded around in your purple gown. Relay has taught many of us too much...way more than we want to know. I am sorry for the turn of events. I am so happy to know that you have God in your life. I pray for your family and for your peace. God bless you for sharing.

Factchecker: Way to go. So many bloggers on here cannot see when something may have been interpreted wrong. Kudos. All of us need to keep in mind that just because we may jump to a certain conclusion, others may not.
Thank you for seeing more than just what you were.

factchecker: How do you sleep at night saying such things to Alexis? Were YOU there that night...in that car? She is informing us all of what she has been told, by kids who were there. At no point did she name names or give a clue who might have been chasing the kids...for all we know they were being chased by another car load of t-ping fun-goers.

For some of you who don't know, usually only two kinds of people get toilet papered...the popular/athletes or the really lame people like EHW. My house got papered the night before a big game and when my little ones who were 5 & 3 saw it, they were so happy and excited that someone 'decorated' our yard. They had a blast with it. Harmless fun.

Alexis, again, I am so sorry that you and the rest of the families have to deal with idiots on this blog. Our prayers are with you all.

On Seven Big Foot High School students injured in crash

I have been angered by many of these blogs, but this one takes the cake. Do any of you who are attacking these kids and their families know what you are doing? Leave them alone. They all feel bad enough for the silly choice they made. That's all it was...a SILLY choice. And yes, at some point the majority of all high school kids will go t p-ing. I did. It was fun as heck and my daugher who is a senior goes now. I know it is against the law, but I would rather my kid break the law t p-ing than doing drugs or drinking or partying. T p-ing is harmless, and yes messy.

And emb1878...I am young..or old, not sure, I am 37. All the kids love coming to our house and no we never allow alcohol or drugs or smoking. It's people like on this blog who get all over kids cases for simple fun that make them go out and do other stuff like drugs and alcohol. You better give kids a break before you push them away. And back off these families from Big Foot, including the 'angry homeowner'.
