On Liebert entering race for 44th District seat

Posted on February 7 at 8:25 p.m. ( Suggest removal )

The fact that people are judging Sam on age alone is ridiculous. There are plenty of politicians out there who have been around forever and haven't done a thing! Just shows how close-minded our society is...

Sam has a lot more experience than just Janesville City Council. Do you research before you start your usual bashing...which is all people seem to do on here...

On Cruising the strip remains a popular activity

truth1 - "Don't you have the internet at home?"

Haven't we been trying to get kids off of their computers/video games and get out and do something? I think being out in a car and getting some fresh air is better than frying your brain on a computer on tv!

When I was in high school, we would go cruise the strip every once in awhile if we were EXTREMELY bored and had nothing to do. But again, that was once in a great while. I met a lot of great people from different towns that I would have probably not met had I not been out there some nights. I was young, and it was something to do!

I think people just need to chill out and let kids be kids. I don't agree with the way some of the people that go out there drive, but then again you really haven't heard about people dying or being seriously injured by cruising the strip.

Everyone has their own thing that they like to do: some people like to hang out at friends houses, some like to go to the movies, others cruise the strip. I see no harm in it.

On Wisconsin troopers tougher on Illinois drivers

AMEN! I have to drive the interstate on a daily basis, and I set my cruise control anywhere between 72 and 76, and I'm CONSTANTLY getting passed by Illinois drivers who are going at least 80-85 mph. It's ridiculous! I've also noticed that they are notorious for SLAMMING on their brakes when they see a State Trooper and almost causing major accidents. It's about time the crack down started!

On 'Stars' shine at Rock County 4-H Fair

12dreams I think that's a bit much. Sounds like your had to sit and think those out a little bit. Like I said, if you read my original post, I started it off with "no offense" but as usual, people on here have to take it to the next level. It was a comment. MOVE ON!

I love how someone states their opinion on here and people always take it to the next level.

thetruth - There is a HUGE difference between a county fair and professional sports. So that doesn't even really compare.

What I was trying to say is that the fair gives our county the chance to show off OUR talent. I said nothing about the people coming to the fair having to be from Rock County. Each county has their own fair so that each county can give their residents a chance to showcase themselves and the things they may be involved in. That's the whole point is to show people who may not be from here what our county is all about.

I'm not saying that people around us shouldn't be able to celebrate with us, but I would say that this is why each individual county has it's own fair...to showcase THAT county's talent. I don't think it's necessarily fair for people who aren't from our area to come and compete just because they want to win a singing contest. I think it defeats the purpose of having the ROCK COUNTY FAIR. You know that these people from Illinois that compete more than likely don't come to Janesville for anything any other time. And do you see people from Illinois coming in to compete in any other contests at the fair? No.
