On Deputies report pot-growing operation

Posted on November 24 at 12:09 p.m. ( Suggest removal )

I am amazed at how many of you think that there is nothing wrong with smoking pot, just because you think it is really "okay" to do so, or that it really shouldn't be illegal.

1. It is illegal

2. It does kill brain cells, if you have ever been around someone who has smoked it a long time you will know that.

3. Why do you "have" to take any kind of drug, or alcohol?

You people are starting to make me scared. We are quite the nation dependant on substances to make us "feel" better. What is the empty spot in your life that you have to fill it with those kind of things?

I happen to know this woman, and it is too bad, but she has done something that she knew was illegal.

Why do we feel it is okay because we don't agree with the law?

We are not above the law. When we start down that road we are capable of many things.

I love animals, very much so. BUT I AM MUCH MORE CONCERNED about the children in this ladies care. Are they in the home? That is what would make me show up at the court house.

I think you all need to remember that there are REAL people involved here. I don't know what was said, but often on blogs such as this, people get much braver then they ever would be in real life one on one conversations.

Speaking the truth, but maintaining integrity when you write on here is certainly something to remember.

Having said that.......wow! What a terrible, horrible thing to have happened! I really pray that the victim has a strong support base. I feel so bad for her!

Growing up the road, from the Muellers, I just have to say...what a wonderful, godly family. I have learned much over the years by just watching how this amazing husband and wife have raised their children! God bless you, Muellers!

We will always have the poor in our society. I would rather be paying tax money for this program and volunteering my time (which I do as a child advocate) to help kids so they have a warm meal in their tummy. Instead of complaining about the poor, I am praying I can make an impact, however small, in the lives of the kids I advocate for so that they are able to grow up safe, healthy and happy--and most importantly, breaking the cycle of poverty.

On Charges expected soon in OWI homicide case

"Just about everyone of us has driven under the influence of a controlled substance (prescription drugs)or alcohol at one time or another. We have been fortunate that we were not involved in some type of accident. I hope and pray that she has learned from this tragedy."

I just thought I would comment on the above statement that was written below. I, for one have never been drunk EVER in my life. I have never taken an illegal drug, and am not addicted nor do I take pain killers on a reg. basis. I think comments like this that "everyone" has done it, is what is wrong with our society. We need good role models for our teens to follow. There is much more to life then getting drunk or ever drinking alcohol. If we would be better examples of how to celebrate with being able to remember the special times the next morning, maybe we wouldn't have so many in the mess that this young lady is. The most powerful role model for any child or teen is the same sex parent, then the opp. sex parent. Parents, we need to be leading by example and dilligent and active in our kid's lives!

The question I have for the "pastor" is did you contact the leadership of Mr. Ashley's church he was at during the time of his arrest? You can form "opinions" by listening to one side, you can base your facts on listening and weighing both sides.

Your crediblity is limited when you only hear one side of the story. If you base your opinions on just Mr. Ashley's talk to you and don't contact the leadership of the church where he served during his arrest, what are you afraid of? The truth is truth. God's light shines in the truth.

I know you have not taken that important step. All good leaders have to listen to both sides.

I have. And I am praying for the victim and her family. And that is what she is, a victim.
