I fully understand and appreciate both sides. My point was that Alice is NOT stupid, she has every right as property OWNER (not tenant) to fight the system. It is well founded pride driving her, NOT lack of intelligence as the previous poster eluded. I'm quite sure in her years that she is FAR more intelligent than him so now he is ridiculous.

"her stupid medulla oblongata" She isn't too stupid... Alice raised three children and a business with her husband in THAT house for well over THIRTY YEARS!! She has been adopted by children and adults alike for DECADES as Grandma, Aunt, and Friend. If you are going to post about something you haven't a clue about. GO DO IT SOMEWHERE ELSE!! When the floods came, she still smiled and two weeks later you would never know it happened. ITS HER RIGHT!!

For all that we struggle
For all we pretend
It dont come down to nothing
Except love in the end
And ours is a road
That is strewn with goodbyes
But as it unfolds
As it all unwinds
Remember your soul is the one thing
You cant compromise

First of all, the Lovejoy Manor is zoned B commercial. It's not a house or a home.
Secondly, the Manor is not just located in a "Janesville" Historic District and therefore subject to the scrutiny of our local historical committee- It is listed and tagged (Waymark Code: WM2CKA) on the U.S. Register of Historic Places, and has been, LONG before it was purchased by Goodrich. He knew that before he bought it and what the restrictions would/should be regarding the maintenance of that property.
Allen P Lovejoy was a very unique and determined man that touched the founding growth of Janesville in many ways. Read about who built the house and you will understand why it should be preserved intact: http://freepages.history.rootsweb.ancest...
