engy1974 maybe you would have a job and not have to SURVIVE on UNEMPLOYMENT and could afford a newer car that did not have 200,000 miles on it if you could learn to spell correctly.

Justme...What you don't know is how much sex and drinking probably went on in those tents. I'm not saying that you did anything wrong but kids are sneaky and will do some things that would suprise most people. I am not going to lie and say I didn't do my fair share of drinking in highschool, but we were incredibly proficient in making sure we did not get caught. Kids are smarter than you think and if they want to get away with it they will.

no it does not say it must be a local contractor anywhere but it is still up the the county to decide. all of the determining factors you listed give them many ways to be able to pick who they want. As far as the union contractors go, even though Tri-North is not required to hire unions subs they make it a point to do so whenever possible.

Actually tiredofhearingit, This was a county job, not a state or federal job. So that means that the county has the final say on who to use. The sherriff actually has more to do with it than anyone. He make his recommendations to the board on who they should hire, and within reason they listen to him. And as far as local workers go Tri-North is a union company so all of there worker will come out of the local union halls, including the subcontractors.

Macdaddy - Prime Quarter is not a "Great" Steakhouse in any way shape or form...It may be good but certainly not great. When I think of a Great steak dinner I think of places out of town, not the Prime Quarter. There Steak is OK at best and the interior needs serious updating. This new Hibachi style will be a nice change for the area. It is not just a steakhouse, people will go there for a different type of atmosphere that they can not currently get in this town.

DiGriz - The Roadhouse has been here for a pretty long time already and the popularity has not worn off yet and I doubt it will. I personally am not a huge fan of the place but it is always packed but it is not always a long wait.
I can not wait for the new Hibachi place to open JMK is one of my favorite places to eat but like PBR man said it can get expensive with the drive and the tolls and the drinks. Janesville needs a place like this right now there is no place to eat in this town that is "different," everything has basically the same food.
I sometimes make the comment to my wife that if one of those food network show were to come to town to check out a cool place to eat they would have nowhere to go, the best option would be Prime Quarter but that is not saying much. All that is, is a slightly better cut of meat than you can pick up at a grocery store.
So Good Luck to Mr. Piao, I know I will be a frequent customer of yours.

MrScott - I agree with you, I also went to college and graduated but I still look back on my high school days as a great time in my life. We did our fair share of innocent mischief and got away with it. When we did it, it was not to "deface" property or stick it to the school. I was all in good fun and I would not change what we did for anything. I hope when I have kids they are able to do the same things we did.
Hannah - If you really think by that statement that they were actually driving and throwing tp at the same time you need to get your head checked!!

On Janesville council approves ice arena funding

Dini79...Really the "elite" of Janesville? I am pretty sure this arena will be for the benifit of the whole community. It costs $8 to get into a Jets game, and it is good clean fun for everyone. You can also take your children there to ice skate year round if you would like. I hardly think this is a place where the "high society" goes and drinks brandy and smokes cigars, and looks down at the "peasants" and laugh. If you were to go to a game you would see that it is a bunch of blue collar people enjoying an affordable night out with the family.
