On Kids and fundraisers: What are the limits?

Really, the children aren't selling this overpriced stuff. The parents are. Children are actually told not to go door-to-door to sell their stuff so who gets to do it? Mommy and Daddy at work. I don't know how many times I've been bombarded with catalogues of candy, wrapping paper, cheese, nuts, candles and other overpriced things...not to mention the endless pimping of Girl Scout cookies. Enough is enough. Let the kids opt out with no fear of punishment or reprisal.

I can spend hours on YouTube watching "classic" sesame street. All of my favorite muppets are "retired" or have been changed to suit political correctness. I miss Mumford the Magician, Forgetful Jones and Buster, Prairie Dawn and her plays, Sherlock Hemlock, the Sesame Street News, and all the psychedelic 60's and 70's cartoons and shorts in between skits. I remember Mr. Hooper and his death, Maria and Luis' wedding, Gordon and Susan adopting Miles, the birth of Gabriella, Barkley and Linda, and when everyone but Big Bird thought Mr. Snuffalupagus was imaginary. Pretty much everything before that God-forsaken Elmo took over. Give me my 60's and 70's sesame street!

I like the maples like the one in the picture and the ones that turn bright red. I also like the little trees along Racine street near palmer park that are a mix of orange, red and a dark purpley color. They look like they could be a walnut tree but I'm guessing.

I would love to live downtown again. Unfortunately apartments and such don't offer the things I need right now. Like affordable rent and included utilities. While I'm not far from downtown, I'd like to be back there someday. Best of luck to the Kimballs.

Thanks for sharing this bit of your life with the world. Even though it wasn't the most pleasant of experiences, it was real. While I can't speak for anyone else. You humbled this total stranger and moved them to tears. I hope you have peace until the last.
