On Preventive care: It's free, except when it's not

Posted on December 28 at 4:07 p.m. ( Suggest removal )

It erodes a trust relationship the patients may have had with their doctors," said Dr. Joel Brill of the American Gastroenterological Association. "We get blamed. And it's not our fault,"

What a bunch of BS! It is all in the way the claim is billed, by the Dr office. If the primary Diagnosis code is routine, or with modifier that states it is part of Health care reform, it gets paid as routine. But, when the DR office bills the "abnormal" as the primary, then it gets paid that way. Insurance companies are not mind readers, they have to go by what is billed. If the dr's would bill correctly, they get paid correctly. And please do not lump all companies the same. Ours pays for the first, no matter what the code.

On Insurance cooperative to drop coverage for some state employees

Posted on August 27 at 5:07 p.m. ( Suggest removal )

Once again, everyone likes to blame the insurance company, but really take a look around. Does Mercy really need to be expanding all of their hospitals and clinics? Who do you think is paying for it. You are! There is always more to the story, and I think the Gazette did a horrible job with this one. If you are going to use someone elses story word for word, at least print ALL the words.

On Owners might demolish building over proposed historic district

The article states that they have had to purchase parking. So, it makes sense that they could use their own property for the parking rather than buying it from somewhere else. There is nothing eye catching about this building, and unless I had read it in this article I would never have know that it even had any historical relevance, not that it matters to me. Its a boring old building.

The article states that it is a proposed rule, therefore they wouldn't have known when they purchased the building that the city was going to do this. I say good for them. Not everyone can afford to stand up to the city. If they want to use it as parking, so be it. It is their property.

We had one ac unit in the kitchen window, and that was it. Spent alot of time sleeping in the basement. I have to say, I don't mind the heat as much as the humidity. Nothing worse than sleeping in wet sheets!

On Mercy building on Janesville's north side

But lets blame the insurance companies for how high the premiums are. Every time they build new, the price of their services go up and get passed on to the patients, which gets passed on to the insurance companies. Mercy has expanded so much that no one will be able to afford to go there.
