Beloit Guy- Great Job Beloit. Big Win. The hard work of many is finally paying off for them. Im not saying that Parker should have won any games, There is a big difference between winning and playing fundamental soccer. When you have a lower skilled team the goal should be to improve by the end of the season. Im not sure this happened. Not to blame the coach again but if you go into a game playing not to lose and hoping to maybe tie, you will never will win as many of the players constantly stated that the game plan was to try to tie. Its completely fine to lose all of your games if you had fun and improved throughout the season. I dont know if this happened and it is not the players fault. It starts with having a unified team. How many games did they have the same players on the field. WIth ineligibility they never seem to be all there. COngrats to the guys who stayed out there all season and gave it there all. They should have been able to play with teams like Jefferson, Sun Prairie, and East as well? Believe me, I am not knocking the players at all. I want the best for them.

Beloit Guy, I get your point. 16-0 is outrageous and should never be allowed to happen, but it is the playoffs and asking a team to turn it on and off can be tough. I do think the pulling players off the field idea is more embarassing than losing 16-0. Then it comes down to even 4 players short we couldnt hang with them. Maybe the Tremper coach should take a lesson from the Madison Memorial Coach. he has always been good and leaving the opposing team with dignity. I think he was on the other end when he first started coaching so he knows what it feels like. I've seen him say only goals by headers, everyone must touch the ball before a shot, defense plays offense, and when the doesnt work just say no more goals, play keep away. I wasnt able to go to the game but looking at their past scores the guy who scored the 2nd and 15th goal is not a normal starter. A lot of coaches also will put the starters back in the last 10 minutes to get their rythem back since it is the playoffs. I really don't think the Parker players care who scored. The real question is, Parker Coaching. I talked with a couple of kids on the team and they said it is normal once they get behind by 4 or 5 for COach holmes to just give up and stop coaching. I know it is been a tough season but If the coach gives up the players surely well also. Good thing the players didnt and didnt give up all year. My hat goes off for the Parker players for sticking with it and giving their best even with no direction. The important thing is that they have fun. If not maybe time to talk with the AD about some changes. You got to stick with it. Look at Beloit after years of losing and losing its finally paying off. It takes a long long time to get it going in the right direction. It started almost 10 years with Coach Biesser, then Coach ALlen, and COach Kindshi and now is finally paying off with the new coach. Great Job!! B'town

On Ranked teams down local squads

Parker Coach- Is there any more excuses. First it was starters gone, now the weather, what next you had a head ache. Maybe time to work on bringing respectibility back to Parker boys soccer. When i played for Parker we didnt win but we were respectible. We played hard and earned the respect as a team that wouldnt quit. We never had issues with ineligibility. If you were a player that continuously had grade problems, you were not on Varsity. I feel bad for the kids who work the butts off and deal with the constant excuses of players out for ineligibility. Coach Holmes maybe build your team around STUDENT athletes that you can count on. Thats the way it was with the past coaches. But anyway I wouldnt want your job. Keep your head up but with your goals grounded

All of these comments are so double edged sword. First of all get over the garbage talk about Obama and all. Vote for him or not he is our President and its time to show some support. Your right requiring KG really only effects a few but if we can help at least one then we have made a difference. Also if Kg is required then in first grade teachers do not have to waste so much time getting all of the children on the same level. Also we continue to backlash against schools on how poor they are and how low are children are, then requiring them to be there more should help the cause.

Notafraidofcolor and mickie they really should get rid of home schooling. What makes a parent qualified to teach. Home schooling is one of those things that you dont even need to be qualified to do. So a teacher has to go to school for at least 4 years to be able to teach and a parent can just say hey I want to teach my kids and there you go. Getting a drivers license is even harder. Don't get me wrong a lot of parents choose to home school their children and do an amazing job.

Great job battling, its too bad someone ends up losing a game like that. My question is for Coach Holmes, maybe its time to look at your standards of why you have 5 players out with acidemic ineligibility, is winning that important that taking kids that can't even stay eligibible is priority. Kind of a slap in the face to the kids that busted their butts to keep emphasizing you lost without 5 starters. I know Coach holmes has never been able to get his teams in the right direction but maybe he should start with getting student athletes instead of athletes that will never see the field.
