On Will tragedy mean change at Lions Beach?

We grew up as youngsters and teens, going to Lions Beach every chance we got. The water was clean, the bath house was kept up and there were even concessions sold. Back then, we took our transistor radios and met up with our friends for a good time swimming and socializing. There were even a few dances with live bands which was really something fun to do on the beach. It would be great if they could clean it up and get life guards out there again. It's a great activity for kids in the suimmer.

Obviously NCC1701 is a smoker. All smokers will eventually end up with some kind of respiratory disease or cancer. It's a fact, do your homework. I personally wouldn't choose such a painful way to die but that's just me.

Actually, I lived in Janesville for 44 years, having raised our 3 kids there and it was a good, safe community for them to grow up in. However, when things started "going economically downhill", we moved out of state -about a year and a half ago. Our kids are grown, and we have no regrets at all about leaving. There are nice places all over the US and starting fresh in a new place is great. Glad we got out when we did - we both have good jobs with good benefits and haven't looked back.

For Easter, my Mother would "marinade" hard boiled eggs in pickled beet juice for a few days, then put them out on a platter with the rest of our Easter fixins. The eggs were delicious and colorful - a nice bright pink.

My heart breaks all over for these men, when reading this latest report on the plane crash. Frank was my landlord and was such a wonderful, caring man. He went out of his way to help me when I was snowed in, was always quick with any needed repairs and was a real joy to talk to. My sincere prayers go out to his wife, children and grandkids. He loved to talk about those grandkids.

I agree with Schnckstac1. I was brought up to believe that contributing money, time, and hard work for a good cause is the right thing to do - and to do so anonymously, not looking for praise. It's astonishing that someone would act in such a manner as Ms. Damron so the spotlight shines on her and her donation of money and time. As stated by others, recognition for her efforts appears to be far more important in her eyes.

I'm so proud of Crystal. She and my daughter grew up together and remain life-long friends. I admire the path her life has taken her. DV is definitely a horrible thing that needs constant attention. You have brought it to the forefront, once again, and I applaud all your efforts for this important cause. BD
