The idea that medicare and social security benefits are not entitlements is bull. As seniors start living longer and longer, they end up getting more than they put in. As they live longer and longer, they end up costing Medicare more than they put in especially as the cost of health care continues to rise astronomically. Just think where these people would be if the government were to privatize social security and the markets tanked like they did. What is Smilen did not put save enough? I only said Alpo time as a joke but for many it would be seriously for them.

"Flyers also include long lists of complaints, including "government-run health care"...like medicare and veterans administartion. I would bet quite a few of the folks at this "freedom rally" receive one or the other. Oh wait, they deserve these!

smilentalk- I hate to break it toy you but politicians have been spending social security for decades and studying ants and cow methane etc... so if by your definition Obama is evil then so are all the ones that preceded him like Reagan and Bush, especially Bush who spent money like it was his own, including the Medicare Perscription bill which was the biggest buyoff of votes in the history of politics and is one of the biggest reasons for the trillions in deficits we have now (not to mention 2 wars that are not included in the budget). Obama spends money on ants and TRYING to insure everyone and employing people. While money overspent is never good, their are worse reasons to spend it.
