On Boy’s overdose death could result in reckless homicide charge

Every single person involved in this death whether adult or child needs to be held accountable and/or responsible for this child's death. I hope the investigators get this puzzle solved quickly before this happens to another child!

You're too funny PBRMan! These stupid young kids that are messing around with drugs wouldn't have a clue what Doc Martins are, nor would they get caught wearing them! I would imagine that they are crapping their pants though!!

It's the kids into sports too. It's every kind of kid from every kind of family. Everyone's kids always walk around saying...I'm bored (mine included), by the way, that's another comment frequent "status" seen on FaceBook. There is a real problem in Edgerton. They have done those surveys on teen alcohol/drug abuse here. I was shocked to read the results! And this is what the kids opinions are. People look the other way thinking their kids are not being harmed by this behavior. It can happen to anyone, anywhere, and anytime.

kellim...try calling Walgreen's. Then maybe your doctor's office. Whatever you do, don't flush them! Good luck!

We live in the Edgerton School District and what my older three kids and their friends have said that here in Edgerton, when kids are bored they drink and do drugs. At first I just thought they were just telling me "stories". After seeing the many, many posts and pictures (on FaceBook, of course) of party goers and what not, I no longer think my kids are pulling my leg. You know what's sad...most of these parties are at their houses and parents are okay with that. That is the real problem. Parents trying to be their kids friends and not parents. I am hoping Alex's death opens everyone's eye's and they wake up! No one is invincible. This will happen again when this kind of behavior is tolerated. Lives are too precious and cannot be replaced. This is such an awful tragedy for any family to have to live with. Let's all learn from this and not allow this to happen to our kids!

facebooker....this one's for you...I love how people (not you) feel the need to drag other personal stuff into their comments that have absolutely nothing to do with the original story? You catching that too???

The school district has nothing to do with this. This happened at home. All of this stuff starts with parental supervision at home. Monitoring friends, FaceBook, calls, texts and so on. I wouldn't necessarily blame the doctors either. When you are given an rx for a narcotic, there is a limited amount you get, maybe 10, 15 or 20 with NO refills. If you take this medication as prescribed, you do not become addicted that way. Here we go again...parental supervision.

etown...all roads were bad in and out of Edgerton. I am not aware of many that felt the need to keep their kids home from school, especially with what these boys were doing. C'mon, the buses in the district were running and for the most part on time too! My teenager managed to get the bus and younger kids were driven, as they usually are. These kids belonged at school, not doing what they were doing, or getting a good nights sleep for the school day that lay ahead of them! Again, poor decisions that killed a child! It has absolutely nothing to do with staying up all night! Most managed to go to work and school and where ever else they needed to be! Even the ambulance crew were at their jobs yesterday morning too!
Facebooker...I was stating that there was a lot of bad judgment here, not just lack of it! This tragedy was so preventable from the start of this nightmare! I will say again, EVERYONE involved here is to blame, not just the lack of parental supervision! Some people on here are apparently unaware of what exactly goes on in their home or choose to look the other way!
