On Public hearing Tuesday on closing a Janesville school

To even consider closing Kennedy Elementary ( a very new school) or Harrison, is total nonsense. Certainly there are older buildings to shut down, if needed. We need to find a school board with an ounce of common sense.

It would be nice if Janesville would invoked some planning regulation, where hospital emergency rooms are located. We have had one ER for years, now suddenly we need three? Two on the north side of the city? Makes little sense.

Do we really need a Mercy emergency trauma center north, an emergency room at the current Mercy and the new St Marys trauma center? Seems a bit over done for Janesville.

Prosser's conduct towards women, who disagree with him, is border line psychotic. If he were a county court judge, he would have been "sent packing" a long time ago. Thanks much to Wisconsin conservatives, who "stuck us" with this guy for 10 more years. Special "kudos" to Prosser's helpers in Waukesha.

We waited 17 minutes on Brakefield at Ruger. Finally backed up, turned around and used the Interstate. I don't see why we would encourage this level of traffic through city residential areas.
On Law enforcement leery about concealed-carry legislation

Although at first blush it may seem that violence would go up, if more people carry weapons. Yet, in states that have enacted it, the opposite has been true. Violence and certain types of violent crime, involving firearms has gone down. A total ban on carrying weapons, only Wisconsin and Illinois currently have this, guarantees the criminal he will have a bevy of unarmed citizens to choose from. With any form of carry, by permit or so called constitutional carry, the criminal doesn't know if his victim(s) may be armed. Since most criminals are basically cowards, it reduces the person to person violent crimes such as robbery, car jackings etc. Even folks who have no interest in carrying weapons, will benefit by the criminal not knolwing for sure. Or so the theory goes.
On Janesville police supervisors to form union

""How does Walker rationalize police collectively bargaining, but not teachers and other public sector workers?""
It was an "Atta boy" award to the Milwaukee Police Department union, who supported Walker over their own mayor Tom Barrett. The rest of the state cops kind of got "coat tailed" in.
In addition Walker is proposing legislation knocking out the City of Milwaukee rule, mandating officers live within the city limits. Something that has annoyed the union for sometime.
The Wisconsin Professional Police Association, which Janesville officers are members, did not support Walker. Although it would have been very difficult to treat the two groups differently.
Wisconsin is starting to look and feel a lot like Cook County Illinois in the 60's.

Remember when teachers, public employees, Planned Parenthood, NPR and PBS crashed the stock market, wiped out half of our 401Ks, took trillions in TARP money, spilled oil in the Gulf of Mexico, gave themselves billions in bonuses, and paid no taxes?
Yeah, me neither.
