Well Kathryn..how convenient, I work at one too! So tell us then, what really happen with the CT who answered the phone, and Mr. Oakley who was on the other end asking for an Officer?
I don't believe Mr. Oakley was "making up" a story to be a hero. I also know Gene and Suzanne and they are great people! They are heroes in my book for not giving up even after being denied help from the 911 Center. They did a great job at getting another criminal off the street. However, I think instead of the Sheriff's Dept getting the bum wrap, I think it fell down on Rock County's 911 Center and the CT (Call Taker)who answered the phone. Perhaps the 911 Center would like to respond??
Oh and Kathryn thank you for correcting my one vowel mistake on Mrs. Sukus. I had already corrected Dave's last name.

MissSassyPants I know how 911 centers work. What I believe happen is Gene Oakley spoke to a Telecommunicator at the 911 center. I believe He/She probably did tell Gene that they were not able to do this. Instead of putting Gene in contact with the correct person of authority. Perhaps Dave Slater at Rock Co 911 should be interviewed as to what really happen here! Seems to me the call taker didn't do a very thorough job in initial questioning to make the correct choice in how this situation was handled. Luckily Gene is a smart man. The professional way he handled it, even after he received no help from the 911 center, gave the bad guys an arrest. Good job Gene!!

Contact Paul Benish, a member of Trinity Episcopal Church. He is treasurer of the GIFTS task force that organized the effort.

If anyone else attended mass Saturday evening at St John Vianney, you know what I am going to say. Father told us of two touching stories. His voice cracking during them both. He told us how JR was found to be on the missing persons list in Arkansas. His parents reported him missing and just wanted to know their son was alive. During his time at the homeless shelter, he made phone contact with his parents in Arkansas and has since been reuinited. Perhaps something that would have never taken place had St John Vianney not opened their doors and had a homeless JR not come there. The 2nd story Father told us was the shelter didn't open until 7pm. However, several of the homeless men arrived early, found the shovels for the church, and began clearing the sidewalks before the volunteers got there. Their thanks, in their own way. When we arrived at 5pm mass Sat, one of the homeless men was holding the door open for all the members. How sad that some of you are not willing to see the good this is doing and what this means to the homeless. I guess it is easier to turn the other cheek and pretend we do not have a problem in this town, huh?

Was someone hoping for a bonus from any slush money that wasn't used?????????? Hmmmmm.
I am with you Doc. We have no idea how much snow we will get living here in Wisconsin. I guess I too would budget more and be happy to see a green + at the end of the year instead of a red -.

Momof5 wrote this on Dec 19th: Please don't throw stones at me and call me names, but a lot of the workers who go to Zachow's or slack off are not from the generation of employees from "years ago." (Define a lot)
So apparently she knows of those same people I speak of!
Let some of the people who want to be the workers RUSerious speaks of, have those jobs. The jobs that the drunks and slackers shouldn't have. Momof5 said herself they are given more chances than they deserve. (So GM does know of the drinking on the job and keeps giving those people chances??)
You people, who are oblivious to what is going on down there because you are from the "old school" ways, need a wake up call! Maybe what your fabulous family did for generations is the only thing that you know. That is not what is going on down there today.
My x-father in law wasn't one of those that was a drinker during his 40 + years at GM. Yes, I do know good people who work there too. Even using a Dart name, I know good workers. (EYE ROLL).
It's ok RUSerious, I'll pray for you at communion on Sunday. Until then, keep the blinders on, or maybe you need some bi-focals!

Then come back and post. Wow good for you, you know the church going ones. (applause) There are others that do exactly what I posted.
