On Monterey Mills headed back to the gulf

Posted on July 27 at 4:34 p.m. ( Suggest removal )

TomT-The crime was allowing the drilling of any oil off shore, i would imagine most of these rigs have been installed before the current administration so really who is to blame? Both Dem and Rep have been in office while these pumps have been running and no one did a thing to remove them. I did not make my 1st posted comment to make a political speech for that's not what this story is about.
I stand by my comments intent that this Monterey Mill idea is at best marginal, sorry if i have an expanded vision of the process and task at hand.
Monterey Mills- Have you tested how your product fairs with the oil tar in rough sea's? Place 10 or 15 gallons of tar in your pool and adgitate vigorously. Report your results please.
Good Luck

Again people think, the Gulf is not a swimming pool. This idea is no better than using a ShamWow, and the ShamWow can hold 12 times its weight in liquid!
The current 600 miles or so of boom collects oil as well as anything, and its much easier to handle than dipping knit pile fabric in a high sea's enviroment.
Hats off for the idea and thanks to companies like our Janesville Monterey Mills for giving some options to Obama and friends. But also remember the Mill wants to profit from this crime, i am sure its not all about helping the good ol' USA in its time of need!

Good Luck

On Can Monterey Mills contain the spill?

Posted on July 13 at 5:02 p.m. ( Suggest removal )

I know you wanna give a big hurray for a local Co. but really the ocean is not a pool, ripples vs 3 to 12 foot swells! Did these guys figure how large a piece of fake fur would be needed? Did they figure how much it would weight after it was soaked with oil and how it would be picked up? Also the oil in their pool is processed/refined and thin, the stuff in the ocean is much thicker. Oh well(no pun) good luck!

On Emergency personnel empty the back of a rental truck that left the roadway of I-90/39 just south of

When i was young and an accident was off the road they would not shut down the Hwy. If you say its for safety reasons i say its (pardon the pun) over kill. I can understand if you need a place to land Med-Flight but this was not the case. Single lane closed would have been more than enough. I'm just saying!

On Family awarded $893,684 in Mercy suit

Before Mercy Hospital and before Doctors this mother and or child would be dead. Someone is always trying to get the most out of the system and blame others. 875m but the defect remains, and when the cash is spent the birth defect will remain. All i am saying is be greatful instead of sue happy, the mother and child lived and it was due to the Doctors and Hospital that things did not turn out even worse. Health care is not an exact science, to error is to be human! I guess this is why my insurance went up again, to pay for this case and others like it. Maybe we should go back to the basic's and everyone just give birth at home and take your 50/50 chance your birth goes well.

On Wis. Senate passes texting ban for all drivers

Lawmakers get elected to make laws, they will never run out of stupid ideas. I think we should have roll cages and wear helmets while driving cars and trucks, and lets lower the speed limit to 10mph on all roads! Hey lets just ban motor vehicals, if we can save just one life it will be worth it!!! lol Keep On Voting...

On Is spanking a sometimes necessary part of disciplining a child?

Posted on July 29 at 4:21 p.m. ( Suggest removal )

Only reason you spank your kids is because you can, you who do have an anger problem and are lazy to take the time to show your children the right way to do things. Maybe you would think differently if your boss could wack you everytime you screwed up!
There are many ways to teach your child a lesson without kicking em in the butt, problem is it takes control and effort which i think you hitters lack.
I got cracked plenty when i was a kid, i told myself at 10 i would not do the same to my kids.
My kids respect me just fine! I think they learned that leason the 2nd time i told them to pick up their own toys, for the 3rd time i just asked them what their favorite 5 toys were and i kindly picked them up myself and tossed them in the garbage. They cried for a few minutes till i asked them to stop, and gee wiz they stopped stright away! Kids learn quickly, and they still love me.
Hit them and they just learn to be afraid of you, kinda like how you feel about the police after they give you a speeding ticket. Maybe the cops should smack you and take your car away, bet you would learn quickly also! lol

On Do you support a statewide standard for wind energy that would negate standards set by local municipalities?

Posted on April 22 at 1 p.m. ( Suggest removal )

Hey Wrenched1bad according to Stephen Hawking, at the rate the population is increasing Earth will reach a point of time in short order where no longer the world can support the masses with energy. The problem again is, as you can only fit so many people in your car Earth can only support a limited amount of animal life! We must reduce the population, there is no other way! If your really into helping future generations with this problem teach your daughters to only have one child!

On Tornado season is upon us

Posted on April 20 at 4:59 p.m. ( Suggest removal )

Average of 21 tornado's in Wisconsin in a year, i have a better chance getting run over by a drunk driver! How much tax money is spent on those 21? How many of those hit in the middle of an empty field? Why do i have to see 1/3 of my TV screen covered up all day by tornado watch data when there is not a storm with-in 200 miles of Janesville and not to be one? The news team breaks in during my favorite show to tell me if i live north of Madison i should seek shelter? What ever happened to the new improved warning system that was to target the actual area in the path of the storm? Its Spring people look out the window once in a while!
