Pumpkins are a gateway drug.

On When 'closed' is good

I don't think any plant is taking transfers at this time. They (UAW) are trying to get it so people can transfer to Arlington. Even the people that recently left here are running into problems. Some of those plants are closing or cutting shifts. So anyway you look at it your still out of a job. As far as Malkus goes.... we call him the closer. This is his 3rd or 4th plant that he has closed down. He is not a very well liked individual. Nobody has seen him since the last announcement. I have attended several of his 'diagonal slice' meetings. Absolute joke. I can see why they made him a manager though. He has an ability to talk around any question you ask, all the while smiling and lying, towing the corporate line. Good riddance Gary, you will not be missed.

On Mercy sharpens its focus

If Mercy is as great as they think they are, where are the offers to buy them? If they were truely that well liked and had that good of services/reputation, why isn't there a single offer? Competition only really comes when something is lacking. Dean wouldn't waste their time and money otherwise. If Dean didn't think they could better or at least match Mercy they wouldn't be coming. Mercy has sewn it's own problems.

On GM plant to end SUV production by end of year, source says

Posted on October 11 at 3:30 p.m. ( Suggest removal )

Currently the Suburban and Yukon XL are NOT made in Mexico. They have the capability to make them there but right now they are not. They are building pick-ups. I think the saddest thing of all is that America is no longer a self-sustaining country. In the rush for the global economy (ie more money) we gave up the leading role in the world. If GM is truely a international company now, at least thats what they claim over and over again, why are we bailing them out? Why do we give them tax breaks and pander to their ineptitude? Let them fend for themselves, just like everyone else has to. As far as I can tell, all the global economy has done is drive down our standard of living. Wasn't the intent to raise everyone elses to ours?

On Ryan: Bailout bill will have to move right or left

Posted on September 30 at 10 p.m. ( Suggest removal )

Sorry, wrong article, my bad. But I still find this quote laughable.... "the horrendous failures of the Bush Administration".... Mr.Ryan you were instrumental in that horrendous failure by rubberstamping it everytime they told you to.

“In light of the political expediency of my colleagues and the horrendous failures of the Bush Administration, we will have to roll up our sleeves and go back to the drawing board to enact a meaningful solution to our financial crisis,” he said in the release.

Why was this article edited? Why did you take out the part where Ryan is bashing the Bush policies? Is it because he voted for them so often and would now look like a hypocrite?

On UPDATED: Wis. House members vote on bailout

About 60% of Democrats and fewer than 33% of Republicans voted for the measure.

What was your point again?

You do know that 2/3 of Republicans voted against it right? You might want to reconsider your statement.
