On Businesses helping employees to become better health consumers

It's funny when things are bad for us or not healthy we want it and we will do most anything to get it...but when things are good for us we run away from it and complain that its not right and call the "UNION". Look at the good this program can do for its employees! I think it is a great thing that an employer cares for the health of their people even if it is a possible money saver for the company. They obviously spent the money they save in insurance wisely so far.
On Milton names new HS principal

cardtrader...quote - "This guy cant run a High School offense now you make him the Principle! You have got to be kidding me". That is offensive...quote - "Milton dont care about the integrity of the school only the bottom line". Direct insult on a mans integrity.

You have insulted and been very offensive to Mr. Bilhorn and you need to rethink those comments. An opinion is one thing but a shot at a mans integrity is another. Mr Bilhorn is one of the most compassionate person I have met. His ability to communicate and get the most out of kids ranks as high as anyones in the area. Milton made a fine choice with Mr Bilhorn and I wish him all the best. Now about his ability to run an offense...hmmm...how many conference championships did Milton win...I would say he did a fine job!

As far as Mr Pape goes I am sure as Mr Bilhorn he would have been another wonderful choice. We are very blessed in the Milton school district to have a group of very fine teachers and administrators.

billnewbie...I understand...there alot of people on these blogs that use them to degrade people. I don't know the cities plans for future development or where maybe the appropriate place to put something of that nature is...I do however believe that this city is in dire need of things and places for kids to go. Hanging out at the Dunkin Donuts on Milton Ave could be traded for something more interesting and fun to do if the city is willing to invest in the kids of this city.

ame8736...U are right on. This city needs to spend more money on their youth. Janesville really don't have alot to offer to their kids. Activities for the Youth would keep some of them out of trouble. I know you can't keep them all out of trouble but the youth are our future and an investment in them is an investment in our future generations! To say it is a waste of time or money is simply poor judgement.

NVgrf...Please clarify your comment here about Bill that you say "As open minded that Bill is of those who are different from his elitist self, I vote you build it in his back yard." Did he make a comment in the article that upset you?

To everyone else that wants to beat down the Gazette...We the People created this country and freedom of speech...Get off your HIGH horses and step to the ground level and show the support to this unfortunate family on the blogs so they have something awesome to read instead of the negitivity that you people created!!!

On GM won't disclose timetable on closing

It is sad to see people put blogs on here that say “get over it and move on” or “go get an education” or “it’s a good thing for this city”. Its not easy to just “get over it and move on”. It’s called change and people do not accept change well. When you have done the same job for a long time then it is gone, it is hard to accept even if you had an idea that it maybe coming. You are much older than you were when you started the job and now at an older age you find yourself starting over…not easy! “Go get an education” cost money and lots of it. Sure the state will help retrain some of the folks but not all. Not all the 3rd party suppliers will get the same benefits that the GM people will get. So now these people find themselves trying to get an education with money they don’t have. Poor planning…maybe…depends on how you look at it. Still not easy! How is it a “good thing for the city” when Janesville is about to lose some quality jobs that dumped millions into its economy…not just GM jobs…but some jobs that didn’t pay as well as GM but had excellent health care and a solid wage. “Good thing for the city” dumb to even think that way! I haven’t seen anyone yet drop to the ground and flop around and act like a 2 year old over it yet…but if you do I believe they have a right to…and maybe…just maybe someone like you might need to lend them a hand to help them get back up.

On Should the Janesville School District charge higher fees for sports with higher costs?
Posted on August 27 at 6:29 a.m. ( Suggest removal )
I am against the fees. It is very unfortunate already today without the extra fees not every kid can have a chance to participate. Just stop by one of the local youth football fields and start asking some of the kids standing around watching in their street clothes why they are not playing...I did and its because their family don't have the money for them to play. Its not just sports that this happens in...its anything to do with the activities that charge to participate. How sad is it! NO KID who wants to play should be left behind!! Somehow we need to stop the friggin fees and figure out a better way to raise the money so any kid who wants to participate can. $300 to play OUTFRIGGINRAGOUS!!!!
