A red card? Wonder if it was from the same player that should have been given a red card (only received a yellow) against Beloit for purposely cleating a player.

This game actually took place the night before Craig beat La Folette. That is why it would appear in a paper before that article. Craig does have a nice team this year. They will have to run a gauntlet with all the big dogs in conference remaining.

NV- That is indeed the case, though the only girl from Turner on varsity sat out with an injury last night. Still, the official name is Beloit Memorial/Turner Knitro (Knights + Trojans).

I am not sure why any college student would consider becoming a teacher in these times.. Expectations and requirements are growing while pay, benefits and respect from local communities continues to decrease. It's a shame that it has come to this.

Nick's Mom - Saying a teacher's job is "part-time" is ridiculous. I teach at an elementary school in Beloit. I must arrive at my job at 7:45 and can't leave until 3:45. This week I have/had IEP meetings on Monday and Wednesday. These typically run until 4:15-4:30. We have grade level PLC once a week after school and school-wide PLC once a week after school. At some point I have to correct work from my students and plan for the upcoming week/s. With meetings and other happenings after school that usually happens at home.
Most teachers just don't "teach" during the school year either. I coach two varsity level sports at the HS and coach middle school basketball currently. Yes, I get paid extra to coach these activities. No, the pay is not commensurate to the number of hours I put. I will never complain about that because I love what I do. I do take issue with someone calling the teaching profession "part-time".
On Does Beloit Turner plan make sense?

I would imagine that a bigger school would allow more kids from the Beloit School District transfer to the Turner School District. However, that will open up a can of worms for those who live in the TSD. I am not sure I would want to be a family that foots the bill for a referendum knowing that the key is to bring in people from outside the district.
I also think actively recruiting students from the SDB to the TSD would cause some friction between the powers that be. Right now the schools share a partnership in girl's soccer and girl's hockey (along with multiple other schools in girl's hockey....though Beloit Memorial is considered the main school). Those might be out the window in such a scenario.

Teachers should definitely dress professionally. They should also be compensated and treated like professionals by the district and community.

Shouldn't the election be close? Wisconsin's own golden boy Paul Ryan is on the ticket. Wisconsin elected a Republican for Governor....twice. The fact that Romney can't close the deal in Wisconsin is kind of mind-boggling.

It is interesting that one of the Craig players is back playing. Apparently quite a display in Madison against Memorial following a red card after what should have been an immediate red card in Beloit after stepping on a player. Disappointing.
