On Illegal immigrants live on edge of society, fearing deportation

It's very simple why there is little done about the problem of immigration. There is no MONEY in it for the government. The government enforces laws against its own citizens because there IS money in it for the ruling class. I'm surprized that people make the problem tougher than it really is.

On Packers QB Aaron Rodgers wins AP NFL MVP award

Woodsman, evidently you watched a very different game than the rest of us did or you know absolutely nothing about football. 3 fumbles by running backs and 8 dropped passes by receivers are none of Aaron Rogers fault. The score would have been exactly flipped. Go wave your Giants flag somewhere else.

By the way, placing a GPS unit on someone's car is "fishing". Just like walking a dog through a school or a park to sniff randomly.

The one. Freedom and privacy are not "catch words", they are the principles that this great country was founded on. You just proved how far law enforcment goes to justify their actions. Police created the "us vs. them mentality". You, sir, are a large part of the problem. Qualifier: just to let people know that this has nothing to do with sour grapes, I haven't had anything to do with law enforcment in over 25 years, and then only minor traffic offenses.

The_One, the Constitution wasn't written "if you have nothing to worry about" for a very good reason. Two of the reasons being FREEDOM and PRIVACY.

On Bloated hype aside, it’s still a crisis

Midnight, I fail to see the connect between "which way I lean" and a rational discussion on what should be allowed to be purchased with food stamps. Please enlighten.
Recall, do a little research on your own and look up the failure of LBJ's war on poverty started in the 60's. Pouring money on the problem for 50 years has not in any way "given people a chance to get off food stamps". It, in fact, has had the opposite effect.

Start addressing the problem by restricting what can be purchased with the food stamp program. If it has no material nutritional value it cannot be purchased. I'm waiting for a rational arguement against it.
