On Changes to auto insurance laws are complex and have deadlines

Posted on October 26 at 12:26 p.m. ( Suggest removal )

No one seems to realize that the insurance companies were allowed to gamble our premiums in the stock market. As always if the investments pay off they win (and pocket the profits), if they lose money they just raise our rates to cover the losses. If you already carry the new coverages, you should see no change in your rates. But you know that won't happen, not when they can use the excuse that the legislators are at fault. There needs to be mandatory insurance for all drivers. If you drive without insurance and get in an accident and can not pay, it should be a felony offense with mandatory jail time. You make the consequences harsh enough, then there will be compliance. Too often I have had people that have hit my car and skate around their responsibilities. Also, the new minimums in all reality don't cover todays costs.

Matthew: Were you refering to Obama or I would more likely believe that it was Cheney/Bush! I'm sure you won't see the irony in that. To focused on hate instead of solutions.

Jimbofish: I watched the video and it scares me how little these people know. That video speaks volumes as to how we got to 'Death Squads' and 'Killing Grandma'. I give it 5 stars!

Don't worry. When the property taxes get so high, you won't even be able to sell your home to get out of this tax hell. Something to look forward to.

I was going to get a new car, but was laidoff before the weekend I was going to go shopping. I'm glad I didn't get stuck with a car loan and no job.

On How to account for Palin’s Facebook falsehoods

Posted on August 12 at 2:03 p.m. ( Suggest removal )

Prounion: If Sarah Palin is the smartest in the Republican Party, 100% of Americans should be petrified if she were to ever hold a elected office again. Alaska must be breathing a collective sigh of relief that she is no longer their governer.

Now to pose a question: Why is it Patriotic when Republicans curtail/intervene Americans rights, but when Democrats propose a expansion of a fundamental civil right it is Socialism?

Rockstar you hit it all 110%. Their arguments are more built on hysteria and hatred. If this was 50 years ago, they could have passed a ban on interracial marriage. I'm sure they would have used the marrying animal’s argument then also. I find it amazing how these people call on the Bible to support their twisted views, but yet do not hold to the other things that the 'GOOD BOOK' tells them to do. It's ignorance that still drags us back into the dark ages.

Why should discrimination have been allowed to be voted on in the first place? Hopefully at some point this abomination that was placed on our state constitution will be removed. Why should gay people be relegated to second class citizenship? It is a disgrace and if the so called moral leaders were to practice what they preach, maybe, just maybe everyone would be treated with the diginity and respect they deserve.

kinsohn: Maybe you should try reading the article. It was an AGE DISCRIMINATION complaint, nothing to do with religious beliefs. Where does age play into religious beliefs?

On Health insurers face day of reckoning

Posted on July 1 at 6:28 p.m. ( Suggest removal )

The reason there would be less waiting, is that those without insurance now would not need to use the emergency room as their primary care. Unfortunately, the government is NOT involved enough in the health care system. There is not a way to bring ruthless insurance companies to justice. Those same companies have paid for the laws that prevent you from suing them when they screw you.
