Yes, Steve, great job. I didn't know the Farmer's Market was on Youtube. I'm about 30 minutes from Janesville and haven't been yet. Your interviews and display of products has peaked my interest and I'll be there next Saturday. Thanks!

Great questions Greg. Wonder what the majority of the answers to those questions would be. Thanks for approaching the subject.

On Does a multi-vitamin a day keep your doctor away?

Posted on June 1 at 6:10 p.m. ( Suggest removal )

I, too, used to pooh, pooh vitamins. Then a good friend of mine that never caught colds or really anything really encouraged me to try them. I would get 3 to 4 really bad bronchial colds a year. I also had fibromyalgia to the point where I hurt everyday. She helped me research what I could be deficient in for the fibro and then advised to the basics to prevent cold/flu. I took them everyday as she instructed and let me say, all signs of the fibro were gone within two months and I didn't have a cold for ten years!!! If I get lazy and take my health for granted and get in the habit of not taking them regularly, first signs of the fibro come back and I did end up getting a pretty bad cold. You have to remember we are the first real generation to eat of the refined foods and I do believe that is why we are seeing an increase in many diseases and also seeing new ones. I don't buy the supermarket type, I use ones that have been tested for purity and yes they are a little expensive but I shudder at how I would be feeling today without them. Just wanted to share.

On Does anyone eat leftovers anymore?

Absolutely agree with you Greg. I love left overs and many times they're better the second time around because the flavors have had a chance to sit. I know a lot of people, not just young people, that will not eat left overs
I find it very sad, and I think is somewhat linked to not being thankful enough. Raising my kids, Saturday lunch was a few nights of leftovers and they would all fight over them! I always made a big deal out of left overs and it worked!

On Expectations

I agree, Steve! What do you mean Steve hasn't taken a stand? What's wrong with seeing each sides points in the issue and saying a compromise on both parts could go a long way. That is a stance, and that's part of the problem here, so many think it's black or white, and it's not and can't be when both sides disagree as they do.

On Janesville School Board member: Teachers, district, taxpayers should share pain

paytomuchtax - Johnson is pointing merely at a technicality since the money still comes from the tax payer. Whether it goes from tax payer to pension fund or from tax payer to teacher and then pension fund is really a mute point. It is still paid by the tax payer...it doesn't come from a money tree growing in the corner of the classroom!

On A tough lesson to learn

How refreshing to read your story Laura. I am a parent of three adult children between 24 and 30. All three are hard working, very responsible young people. They are deep thinkers and very compassionate. I would have done the same thing you did. It is so important for children to think, and also to listen to what has been told them for their benefit. I see too many young people that half-ignore what they are told and then complain when they suffer the consequences. This was a relatively small thing to use to teach the importance of listening and following through and the younger the better. Kudos to you Laura that you don't do the "easy parenting" and that you take the time to teach the important lessons in life.
