On Police: Wis. ride worker hit self after girl fell

earnednotgiven, if you make a mistake at work would someone possibly be killed? I agree with SarahB1, The ride should have been designed so the operator can't let the person go before the safety net is up. I think the operator was reckless for not doing his job but the job should have been designed so he never had a persons life at his fingertips.

On Drowning victim identified as Turkey man

To all of you making jokes here, would you be making the same jokes if the person who drowned was your friend, brother or child? I don't know this man but please give his family some respect. A close friend of mine died unexpectedly on Friday an hour or so after I spoke to him on the phone. I sure am glad his death did not make the news around here so people like "fool_on_the_hill, RonBurgundy, EMMO46, Mouse & PBRMan" could laugh at his heart attack.

don't jump to conclusions. The trailer had an AC unit that may have stopped working. If the AC is on you would keep the window closed. I don't knows how fast the trailer would heat up if the AC goes out unexpectedly.

On Multiple injuries in another I-90/39 accident

truth1, many accidents are caused by the difference in speed. I believe advising people to drive 5mph under the speed limit is more dangerous than staying with the traffic flow.

On Janesville triple homicide suspect ordered to pay restitution

I am sure the family would be awarded much more in a wrongful death civil suit but the court cost would be more than the murder would ever make.

On Lake Como man upset about 'Negro' classification on census form

I think if people would just stop talking about the different races, especially in a negative manor, our children wouldn't learn to dislike other races. My kid was never told that there was any difference between whites & blacks so she never thought to call them anything different than her other friends. In 2nd grade when she was describing a kid who I knew was the only black kid in the room, she first described him by name, then height, hair color then said his skin is darker, she never thought to call him the black kid. Later she learned about slavery in school. I was telling her how stupid people were 150 years ago but now we know that people are the same, that was good enough for her. I do not think she needs to learn about segregation or hate crimes, the only reason to learn about slavery is to better understand the civil war & President Lincoln. My point is when people make "news" of a word on a form, that just reminds us & teaches our younger generation to note the differences between races. I don't think we need "Black History Month", I also don't think we need White History or Norwegian History Month and we sure don't need United Negro Funds or all black schools. We also don't need to make a big deal about what color the president is. I heard that 96% of blacks voted for Obama.. Why, because he is black? Who cares, vote for who would be a better president, not for who looks like you.

On Group questions church-state separation in Janesville public school

Posted on March 31 at 2:21 a.m. ( Suggest removal )

leostime36, You asked "why to believe in God do you have to attend church?" The answer is that you do not have to attend church but as a true believer in Jesus Christ you would want to attend a good church. Also you say "children that attended church are lucky they came out of it unmolested". I must say in all my years of church & Christian school I have seen nothing of the sort. I would venture to guess that there is more molestation in non-churched families. Then you reference "paying to have faith". There is no price for faith, that is free. You seem so confused.. maybe you should check out a good church this Sunday. Jesus died for your sins, the least you can do is spend an hour in church on the day we celebrate His resurrection.
