Yes, we did get back to sleep but it took awhile and it wasn't "good" sleep!

Our oldest daughter is a junior at LaCrosse and just moved into an upstairs apartment of a house with four other girls. Last night, well, actually this morning at 3:40, she called my husbands cell phone and when it went to voice mail she hung up and called my cell. I didn't recognize the number so my husband called it back and our daughter answered. The words that a parent never wants to hear in the middle of the night were spoken. "Dad I'm sorry to wake you but I need your help"!
OMG! scared us! Turns out she was holed up in her roommates bedroom without her own phone because they had just discovered there are bats in the apartment! She was not going to go into the hallway and go to her own room! Hubby told her to use a tennis racket but she didn't have one available. So then he told her to either call the landlord or the non-emergency police number to find out what to do. As of this moment I don't know how it turned out for them. Oddly the girls have lived there for over a week so I'm surprised they just realized this place has bats! I guess I better give her a call. Hopefully they were able to get out! LOL
Hope all goes well for your son and his new place!

Awww, Steve you and your family could have come over to our house for dinner at 5:00. We had more than enough and we were missing one of our college children that went to his girlfriends family for dinner. Next holiday dinner you're here!

I recently discovered a place in Orfordville called Village Pizza and Family Restaurant. Their pizza is really delicious and their pasta is awesome. Their sandwiches on the other hand are horrible. Someone in our party ordered a chicken patty sandwich and it came with two overcooked frozen patties on a bun! Horrible, but back to the pizza. It's worth a 20 minute drive out. I also agree with other posters here, Jim's and Lisa's are awesome for local pizza but pricey.
We like to jazz up frozen Tombstone with extra onion, peppers, whatever is in the fridge. Dang, now I'm hungry for pizza!
On Whitewater tanning salon abruptly closes

I had pre-payed minutes at the Milton location this Fall. Went there one day and they were closed. The employees told me the night before that their pay checks had bounced. I should have realized something was wrong when several tanning beds were all of a sudden off limits. I think they may have been removed at that point and the doors were locked so we couldn't tell. The phone message said I could use my minutes at the Whitewater location. Yeah, I'm going to drive all the way there to tan.
I was angry and felt cheated since this person STILL has my hard earned money. I am an adult so I can only imagine how these students feel! I would like to know who the owner(s) is/are and see if there is recourse on getting our money back.

The quake woke my husband and me too. The whole house shook and the glass perfume bottles on my dresser were rattling. Remember this happened a few years ago too. With this one feeling as it did I can't imagine what Haiti felt.

I went to Rockford to meet a friend for lunch Wednesday and stopped into J.C. Penney and found some clothing deals. Went to pay and the woman behind me asked if I had a coupon. I had forgotten mine at home , as usual, so she offered me one of her 15% off coupons. She was so sweet and she made my day. I was happy for getting such super deals and she put the frosting on the cake! There are really nice people out there! Thank you nice Rockford lady!
