I know everybody is talking about the budget for the school year 2011-2012 and it is a huge deficit that needs a lot of attention but has anybody talked about the 2012-2013 budget so when we make thses cuts this year it is for a few years that it works? If we dont plan ahead we will go thru this every years.

Speaking of big business campain donations, we all know that the Koch Brothers donated 43k to Walker, that has been well publizice. What did the educators union give to Tom Barret the guy that lost to Walker, wasnt it 179k. Shame on them Koch Brothers! LOL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Get real people the Public Unions are the big business donators that we need to worry about.

I was a independent before all of this crap. I am now a proud Republican! Damn proud of it. Everybody talks about the majority being against Walker? Read the posts and do the counting your self, it looks like the majority is in favor of Walker. You Dems need to come out of dream land. 5.7 million people in WI, lets say 100k protesting in Madison, we went from a total Dem control to a total Republican control, do the math as to who is the majority. If you didnt vote in November, please just stop whinning. See you at the polls in 2012. Go Republicans!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

On Janesville schools' budget woes detailed

Everybody keeps talking about federal aide, state aide, I just want to mention that we all pay for those taxes. "We all" includes Teachers, Administrators, School Board members, and the fellow private sector. The last time I heard about these debt amounts, this is what I heard that they are at that, the Federal Goverment is 10 trillion plus, State 3.3 billion, and the city of Janesville is 127 million in the hole. If I am wrong Im sorry. It is time that we reduce spending at all levels of government, and start being fiscally responsible all together. Stop spending what we dont have. We are living in a time that everybody works more for less. The private sector has been hit hard and now it is trickling down to the public sector, it all sucks! With that said, lets stop bickering and start comming together and getting everything back on track. One more thing, schools districts all over this country are having the same problems, we are not alone

The ECHO Thanksgiving distribution is this morning at the Rock County fair grounds. My wife and daughter are there. Unfornately I am recovering with three herniated discs in my back. I am going to find what the deadline is to donate the Echo Christmas day distribution is. Then I am going to send an email out to all of the people listed in my contacts asking for a donation in the form of a check made out to either Woodmans or Toys Are Us so I get buy gift cards to donate to ECHO for their Christmas fundraiser. I am also going to make up flyers and put them in my neighbors and friends mailboxes to see if any of them can do the same. I will donate all of the gift cards under the name of the good caring people of Janesville.

ctr1 very well said. Woody I think this is a great positive Idea, keep up the good thoughts.

DaWolfman
i also wish this would be taken up somehow. this was a good program as was the christmas toy collection. It would be sad to see them fall by the wayside and i for one would be willing to help out. these two programs caused a lot of joy and happiness if only around the holidays.
The one thing that I have learned is when one door closes, you just just have to try and open another. I would guess that we still have 60,000 people living in this town. We could do something?
localboysince1968- well said. Lets stay positive.
