The Janesville Jets went into their holiday break on a sour note.

Rival Springfield scored four unanswered goals in a 4-1 NAHL victory Saturday at the Janesville Ice Arena before a crowd of 540 on Teddy Bear Toss night.

The Jr. Blues (15-10-1-1) won for the third time in four games, and pulled within four points of Janesville (17-8-2-0) for second place in the Midwest Division. The Jets were without several players due to illness—including leading scorer Jakov Novak—and had a three-game winning streak snapped.

Carter Ekburg gave the Jets a 1-0 lead at 9:25 in the first period with assists from Jordan Steinmetz and Simon Sagissor.

Giovanni Carabelli and Casey Fitzjerrells scored for Springfield in the second period, and Patrick Smyth and Nikita Kozyrev tacked on goals in the final period.

Janesville is off until Dec. 28, while Springfield returns home to host the Topeka RoadRunners on Dec. 15.
