One key stat—shots on goal—indicated the Janesville Jets were the better team Saturday.

The scoreboard reflected that.

Kip Hoffmann had a goal and two assists as Janesville’s offense bounced back from a rare off night for a 3-1 NAHL win over the Minnesota Magicians in Richfield, Minnesota.

Janesville (29-10-2-2) outshot Minnesota (21-19-3-2) 34-16 and avenged Friday’s 1-0 defeat during which Magicians goalie Isaiah Saville made 26 saves for his first shutout of the season.

Saville stymied the Jets late into the second period Saturday until Hoffmann’s unassisted goal tied the game 1-1 at 13:46. Hoffmann and Jakov Novak assisted Benji Eckerle’s go-ahead goal at 16:47.

Erik Palmqvist added an insurance goal at 5:18 in the third period. Garrett Nieto had a quiet night in goal, making 15 saves to earn the win.

Saturday’s win completed a moderately-successful road trip for the Jets, who collected five points in four games against the Minnesota Wilderness and Minnesota Magicians.

Janesville will play a home-and-home series this weekend against the Coulee Region Chill. The Jets host the Chill on Friday at 7 p.m.
