After being shut out for 60 minutes of regulation and 3½ minutes of an overtime period Friday night at Springfield, the Janesville Jets were ready for a bustout game Saturday.
The Jets came out and scored four goals in the first 12:53 en route to a 6-3 victory over the Jr. Blues in NAHL action Saturday night.
Tanner Polgalze scored two goals to lead the Jets. Sam Renlund, Benji Eckerle, Jakov Novak and Kip Hoffmann each scored once.
Novak added an assist to reach 60 points, becoming the third player in Jets history to score that many points in one season. He needs two more points to become Janesville’s single-season record holder.
Renlund, Polglaze, Eckerle and Hoffmann each scored in the first 12:53 of the game to give the Jets a 4-1 lead.
The Jets improved to 32-10-4 for 70 points and remain in second place in the Midwest Division behind red-hot Fairbanks, which has 83 points. Springfield is 24-20-5 for 54 points.
The Jets now head to Alaska where they play the Kenai River Brown Bears on Friday and Saturday.
