Luke Dow managed the only goal during a shootout, sliding a shot under the left pad of goalie Garrett Nieto, as the Minnesota Wilderness defeated the Janesville Jets 2-1 in an NAHL game Friday at Northwoods Credit Union Arena in Cloquet, Minnesota.

Dow’s shot was one of just two that beat Nieto, who tied his season high with 42 saves in the loss.

Minnesota (22-18-2-1) improved to 11-8-1-1 on its home ice while Janesville (27-9-2-2) recorded a point for the sixth straight game.

Jacob Sibell made 26 saves to stay unbeaten (3-0) as a member of the Wilderness. The Isanti, Minnesota, native was released by Brookings on Jan. 12 and signed with the Wilderness later that day.

Janesville took the lead on Jack Vincent’s goal at 4:02 in the second period. Eric Gotz equalized for the Wilderness with 2:53 left in the third period.

The Jets and Wilderness conclude their weekend series tonight at 7:05 p.m.
