Middleton’s gymnastics team put up one of the top scores in the state this year on Thursday night against Janesville Craig.
The Cardinals swept the top three spots in all events and scored 137.75, which would have been fifth if included on the latest state honor roll.
Karina Sabol won vault, beam and floor to lead Middleton, while Chloe Young won uneven bars and all-around.
Craig was led by Phoebe Werner, who was fourth on bars and in the all-around.
“This wasn’t our best meet this year; we have some kids nursing some injuries and it was finals,” Craig coach Jean Welch said. “We did have a some outstanding performances, though. Ariyana Stalsberg got a season-high vault score, as did Gracie Hill on beam. Phoebe Werner had a pretty solid night.”
Craig hosts Madison East/La Follette on Tuesday.
