JANESVILLE

Phoebe Werner and Ariyana Stalsberg were the dynamic duo Tuesday night.

The Janesville Craig gymnasts won two events each to lead the Cougars to a 121.75-108.5 Big Eight Conference dual-meet win over crosstown rival Janesville Parker.

Werner won vault and all-around, while Stalsberg took top honors on floor exercise and uneven bars. Gracie Hill made it a clean sweep for the Cougars by winning balance beam.

“Our girls had a pretty decent meet tonight, especially coming off break,” Craig coach Jean Welch said. “We haven’t had a meet since before Christmas, so we came out strong to shake off that rust. I was really pleased with our performances on vault and floor.

“The girls have been working on adding some skills, so we’re still a work in progress, but it was a good night.”

Carson Richards was second in all-around for Parker’s top performance.
