Maggy Henschler and the Rock County Fury put their stamp on the defending state champions Friday night.

Henschler scored four goals, including the first and last tallies of the game, as the Rock County Fury dominated host Central Wisconsin 8-4 in a season-opening win.

Zoe Steig added a goal and two assists for the Fury and goalie McKaylie Buescher made 25 saves to earn her first win of the season.

“We played very hard from start to the end and never gave up the lead,” said first-year head coach Luke Steurer. “We pressured them the whole game in our defense and offensive zone. The girls were determined from the start.”

The Fury get a short break before traveling to Arrowhead next Friday.
