Maggy Henschler scored twice, including the game-winning goal in overtime, as the Rock County Fury overcame the Wisconsin Valley Union 3-2 in a nonconference game Friday at the Marshfield Ice Arena.

Henschler’s 26th goal of the season came 2:59 into overtime as the fourth-ranked Fury (18-3-2) earned a road win over the seventh-ranked Union (15-3-2).

Rock County rebounded from Tuesday’s 5-3 loss to Cap City.

“I was impressed on how our team came out ready to play after a tough loss,” Rock County coach Luke Steurer said. “The girls were focused and played hard the whole game.”

The Fury led 1-0 until the two sides combined for three goals during the third period. Wisconsin Valley’s Kendra Robinson scored with 1:27 left—her second goal of the game—to force overtime.

McKaylie Buescher made 26 saves in the win.

The Fury end the regular season Feb. 10 at home against Appleton United.
