A big first half carried the Brodhead girls basketball team to its second straight victory Tuesday night.

The Cardinals built a 21-point halftime lead against host Edgerton and cruised to a 69-55 Rock Valley Conference victory.

Cardinals point guard Erin Nyhus led the way with 22 points. Brooke Bescup added 14, and Alexis Oliver had 10 for Brodhead, which was coming off a victory over McFarland.

Bethany Oren and Morgan Demrow each scored 18 points to lead the Crimson Tide.

Brodhead moved to 2-4 in the Rock Valley, while Edgerton dropped to 1-5.

McFarland 58, Big Foot 54—Ashley East scored 17 points and the Spartans bounced back from their loss to Brodhead by beating the second-place Chiefs.

Big Foot led by four at the half before McFarland outscored the Chiefs 32-24 in the second half.

Courtney Schoenbeck led the Chiefs with 18 points, including two 3-pointers. Sophomore Reagan Courier added 13.

Both teams now sit at 4-2 in the Rock Valley.

Whitewater 57, Evansville 45—The Whippets used a 39-16 advantage in the second half to complete a comeback victory after being down 11 at halftime.

Kacie Carollo drove the effort, recording seven steals and 14 of her 18 points in the second half.

Abby Eftemoff had a game-high 21 points for the Blue Devils.

Jefferson 78, East Troy 42—Eleven different players scored as the Eagles remained unbeaten atop the RVC.

Jefferson improved to 6-0 with the win and was led by 20 points from Jackie Luengas.

Parker Fetherson added 14 and Callie Morrison had 10 for the Eagles.

Erin Rice scored 13 points for East Troy.
