Whitewater High zoned out host Delavan-Darien for a nonconference girls basketball victory Tuesday night at Delavan.

The host Comets led 18-16 before the Whippets started fronting the Delavan-Darien inside players in a zone defense that sparked the Whippets’ 57-41 victory.

Senior guard Allison Heckert led the Whippets with 21 points, while freshman guard Kacie Carollo added 12.

Jaida Speth paced the Comets with 20 points, including four 3-pointers.

Watertown 63, Badger 45—The visiting Badgers trailed by just one point at halftime but were held to just 13 points in the final 18 minutes.

Emily Amann had a dozen points to lead Badger, which lost its second straight game to fall to 6-2 overall.

Badger hosts Janesville Craig in a nonconference game at 7 p.m. Thursday.
