Chance Larson helped make sure the Elkhorn boys basketball team remained within striking distance of the top of the Southern Lakes Conference.

Larson made four 3-pointers on his way to a game-high 20 points, and the Elks beat visiting Union Grove 56-42.

Elkhorn is 7-3 overall and 4-1 in the SLC, one game behind unbeaten Westosha Central. Union Grove came into the game unbeaten in conference play but fell to 7-4 and 4-1.Nick Brown added 10 points for the Elks, who have won six of their last seven games.

They play at Wilmot on Friday.

Waterford 48, Delavan-Darien 38—Sophomore guard Annyce Peralta scored 13 points, but the Comets lost at Waterford.

Peralta had three of the Comets’ six 3-point goals. Kailea Timmerman and Jaida Speth each added nine points.

Waterford’s Katie Rohner led all scorers with 19 points.

Waterford went to 1-5 in the Southern Lakes, while Delavan-Darien fell to 0-6.
