The Lake Geneva Badger girls basketball team suffered its first loss of the season Friday night.

Visiting Burlington pulled ahead in the second half and held on for a 44-39 Southern Lakes Conference victory.

Badger fell to 6-1 overall.

Burlington’s offense was the difference in the second half after the Badgers led 18-17 at halftime.

Cora Anderson scored 12 points in the second half to lead all scorers with 16 points for Burlington.

Emily Amann paced the Badgers with nine.

The Demons improved to 5-3 with the win.

Elkhorn 47, Waterford 46—The host Elks outscored the Wolverines 27-21 after halftime to pick up their first SLC victory this season.

Elkhorn is 4-3 overall.

Payton Christensen had 10 of her team-high 15 points in the second half for Elkhorn, while Haley Remington had nine of her 14.

Elkhorn 72, Waterford 56—Vince Umnus and Chase Larson led the Elks to a home conference victory with 19 and 16 points, respectively.

The Elks led by a single point at halftime before pulling away in the second half.

Matt Borchardt had 14 points for the Wolverines, who made 10 3-pointers in the effort.

Elkhorn improved to 2-2, and the Wolverines dropped to 3-3.

Burlington took a 26-18 lead into halftime and held on from there despite a comeback attempt by the Badgers and Grant DuMez, who scored 15 of his 17 points in the second half.

Badger fell to 1-5 with the loss.
