A big first half was more than enough for Madison La Follette’s boys basketball team Friday night.

The Lancers erupted for 44 points during the first half and coasted to a 78-44 win over Janesville Parker.

La Follette (11-3, 8-3) got 18 points from Isaiah Stewart, and 11 each from Anthony West and Charles Washington to remain in third place in the Big Eight.

Parker dropped to 2-12 overall and 1-9 in conference play. Chris Galvan had 18 points to lead the Vikings but was the only player in double figures.

“They really shot the ball well right out of the gate,” Parker coach Keith Miller said of the Lancers. “I thought we were very disciplined defensively, but they just hit some tough shots.

“The score looks worse than it really was because we had a number of turnovers that they converted on the other end. When we ran our half-court offense, we had some success.”
