Orfordville Parkview’s boys basketball team rallied Thursday night for a rivalry victory.

The Vikings trailed visiting Brodhead by 10 points at halftime but came from behind to win the nonconference game 82-78.

Riley Carroll scored 23 points and Justin Balch added 20 for Parkview, which improved to 6-2.

“Pressure defense becoming transition layups and getting some outside shots to go in were the keys,” Parkview coach Mike Striegl said in an email. “This is a great win for us and a look at our potential.”

Brekan Day led Brodhead with 31 points, while Parker Johnson add2ed 21. The Cardinals were without Justice Tway, their leading scorer at more than 21 points per game.

Elkhorn 85, Big Foot 52—Vince and Luke Umnus combined to score 36 points to lead the visiting Elks past the Chiefs in a nonconference game.

Vince Umnus had 13 of his game-high 22 in the second half as Elkhorn built on a 14-point halftime lead to improve to 5-2.

Max Hildebrandt had 14 points to lead Big Foot.
