JEFFERSON

Heading into the season, most thought Edgerton’s boys basketball team could contend for a spot in the top half of the Rock Valley Conference.

A second-place finish seemed like a long shot.

Nobody told the Crimson Tide.

They built a 19-point lead in the first half Thursday at Jefferson and never gave it back, winning 64-50 to close out the league season with a 14-4 record, tied with McFarland for second place.

Dan Zeimet scored a season-high 18 points in the win for the Crimson Tide, who also got 13 from Jacob Fox and 11 from Donovan Cone.
