JANESVILLE

Signed, sealed and delivered.

That was the case Tuesday afternoon for Jordan Bailey, Alexis Fenrick, Chris Galvan and Matt Zimmerman.

The Janesville Parker senior student/athletes signed national letters of intent to compete collegiately in their respective sports.

Bailey signed to play baseball at Division I Bradley University. A two-time all-Big Eight Conference selection, Bailey expects to vie for playing time as a freshman. The centerfielder said committing to Bradley was an easy choice.

“The coaching staff really stood out,” said Bailey, the son of Brian and Kim. “They were very supportive in everything I did and that had a big impact on my decision.

“And they said that the opportunity could be there as a freshman to come in and play centerfield and bat one or two in the lineup. That has really motivated me to work hard.”

Bailey played for Hitters Baseball Academy in the summer and was also Parker’s starting quarterback for two seasons.

Fenrick, the daughter of Jeff and Suzie, signed to compete in track and field and cross country for Division II Winona State University in Winona, Minnesota. She was a four-year letterwinner in both sports and will be a great addition to Winona, according to Parker track and field coach Kristin Collins.

“Alexis will outwork anybody, and as a coach, that’s what you want to see,” “Plus, she’a a great student. She’ll be a great fit at Winona.”

The 6-foot-5 Galvan will play basketball at Roosevelt University in Chicago. He led Parker in scoring last season and is averaging 21.5 points per game this season, including a 31-point effort in the season-opener against Freeport.

Galvan, the son of Greg and Jodi, said the opportunity to continue playing basketball at the collegiate level, as well as enroll at one of the Midwest’s top business schools, sold him on Roosevelt, an NAIA school.

“The school is in downtown Chicago and has everything I want as far as the business program, and then hopefully, getting a job,” Galvan said. “As for basketball, they said I could play either guard or forward and could be able to step in and contribute right away as a freshman.”

Zimmerman signed to play golf at Viterbo University, an NAIA school in La Crosse. He’s coming off a strong summer campaign in which he won several junior events and finished fourth at the Wisconsin Jr. PGA tournament. The son of John and Lisa, Matt had a 74 scoring average last season to lead Parker.
