Derek Rongstad led a quartet of double-figure scorers with 16 points to lead UW-Whitewater to a 75-59 victory over visiting UW-Eau Claire in Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference men’s basketball action Saturday night.

David Sachs and Dalton Menke each added 12 points and Maurquis Turner had 11 as the Warhawks went to 5-3 in the WIAC and 15-4 overall.

Sachs also led the team with five rebounds.

Whitewater made 12 3-pointers compared to Eau Claire’s two. Rongstad and Menke each hit four 3s.

Eau Claire’s Chris Duff led all scorers with 18 points. The Blugolds fell to 1-7 in the WIAC and 1-7 overall.

The Warhawks (5-3 in the WIAC, 15-4 overall) are tied with Oshkosh for third place in the WIAC, two games behind Stevens Point.

The Warhawks play the league-leading Pointers at Stevens Point on Wednesday night.
