A Milton man died in a car/motorcycle accident Wednesday on Interstate 90/39 near Stoughton.

Robert G. Huber, 60, was riding a motorcycle north on the Interstate when a northbound car’s tire blew out, sending the car out of control and hitting the motorcycle, according to a State Patrol report.

Driving the car was Jeffrey S. Angileri, 24, of Elkhorn. He was not injured.

The accident occurred around 12:15 p.m. and slowed northbound traffic for about two hours.

Huber was an accomplished motorcycle mechanic who loved to ride, according to an acquaintance. He was a 1967 graduate of Janesville High School.

Huber had just left work at Kutter Harley Davidson in Janesville when the accident happened, said Vickie Jamerson, office manager at Kutter. He had worked there since 1994.

“If anybody needed engine work done, he was the guy,” Jamerson said.

Huber was well liked and will be missed, she added.

Funeral arrangements are pending at Henke Clarson Funeral Home of Janesville.
