Woman dies after struck by boat on Geneva Lake
LINN TOWNSHIP The woman killed Saturday afternoon in a boating accident on Geneva Lake has been identified as Christina Ann Tully, 28, of Chicago and formerly of Winter Garden, Fla.
She was killed when struck by a boat.
Tully was wakeboarding when she fell into the water. She was wearing a dark-colored personal floatation device, according to a news release from Geneva Lake police.
While she was waiting in the water for Jared D. Doskow, 28, to turn around and pick her up, she was struck by a boat driven by John Hutchinson, 64, of Watseka, Ill., according to the release.
At the time, a storm was approaching, and waves were in excess of 2 to 3 feet, according to the police statement.
Neither driver was drinking, and alcohol does not appear to be a factor in the crash.
Geneva Lake law enforcement is continuing to investigate, but no charges are expected.
