Police arrest suspect in Citgo robbery

JANESVILLE — Police arrested a Janesville man they suspect robbed the Citgo gas station at 1002 S. Jackson St. at 7:41 p.m. Wednesday.
A clerk told police a man entered the store, said he had a gun and threatened to shoot her if she did not give him money, according to a news release. The man took money and fled with $330.
Police said they caught a man after a short foot chase in the 600 block of W. Delavan Drive. He was found trying to pull himself out of the Rock River, said Sgt. Kay Nickolaus. He told officers he had fallen through ice at the river’s edge.
Officers gave the man dry clothing and took him to the Rock County Jail. He was identified as Maurice C. Thomas, 44, of 120 W. Delavan Drive.
Thomas was arrested on charges of armed robbery and resisting an officer.

I don't think anyone would look his best after a dip in the icy river and the indignity of getting caught like that. A picture paints a thousand words. The trick is getting the words in the right order.

yaboy, why can't someone make make a comment without someone assuming they are making a racial slur? Did he say anything about being african american? I didn't see anything. I don't think race has anything to do with it. A lot of crimes like this take place in relation to drugs though, the person needing money to get that next hit. I'm not saying that's the case here, but neither is race.
